Let me explain. I have been a car nut some 30 year and I intent to share a rather personal part of my life, right here! Only a member for two weeks, this board gives me great satisfaction and enjoyment.
Enough said, it friggin bothers me that alot of members want to keep their info confidential or limited. I don't give a damm if you restored a Pinto, 32 Highboy or would like too know more and never turned a wrench! I search member profiles as much as the Messages, as people and stories interest me , probably more than the cars. Frankly, I hate too see no immage and info. and this really irks me.
I got hit by a speeding car at 70 mph when I was 17 years old. I won't go into the injuries I suffered but surviving was a miracle, simple put. I love my gray hair, my spair tire, and my reconstructed teeth, (always had a great smile...LOL). I charish close friends and their stories. After all, I defied all odds, by living an horrendous crash. I challenge all members to Show your face and reveal your info! Having a second chance on life makes one appreciate and take interest in others. Your stories add to the forum immensely. True friendships are built on knowledge, trust and respect. Lets open up a little!
Your car budy from Ontario, LARRY

I though my life was way too boring to share with others, all I have is my shop, hotrods, and some good friends here. No offence meant by not adding a bio on this site. Anything you want to know about me, just email, I`ll gladly spill the beans...LOL

Pat, thanks for the kick-off.
Like yourself in law for 8 years my son has just started his 400 hours of non-profit work to begin his application to become a OPP police officer in Ontario, Canada.
My son and I went to Japan in November 2001, where he competed in the Junior World 9-ball championships. Only 32 players, 18 and under qualified. We had a fabulous time hanging out and parting with several Americans and one family from Puerto Rico. Trip of a lifetime.
Life is about living and making friends, too short to do otherwise!!!.....Your car buddy from Ontario, LARRY

I've decided to not make my bio public. I've been on the internet for a while and have had some problems with people knowing too much about me. I figure I'm rambling on here enough that if anybody cares to pay attention they will piece together what some of my story is. I'm a pretty private person and have a very comfortable life...not money-wise, just comfortable in a peaceful kind of way. I'm not taking anymore chances on someone disrupting that.
I agree tho, I like to read about the people I'm talking to also and when I go to a profile and there's nothing there I'm disappointed...but I understand.
Here's a little something about me. I live in michigan, have a '31 Chevy pickup I built, a '31 Chevy sedan, a '30 Chevy sedan..about to become a sedan delivery, a '57 Ford fairlane 500 with a 429 in it, and another '57 fairlane that after its robbed of whatever parts I need will be for sale. Got my first harley when I was 13 (40 years ago) and rode ever since. Got a 11 year old Golden Retreiver named Drifter that was supposed to die 2 years ago from an enlarged heart but is still around and a great bud. Speakin' of bud, I've been known to sip a few brews...but only when I'm alone or with somebody. I like to fish and garden.
Anything else that anybody needs to know is between the lines in my posts.

Not much to brag about. 42 married to Sheryl for 12 years,2 dogs and a fishpond. Been involved in cars since late 60's, 20+ years of racing dirt, demolition derby and 1/4 mile. Used to fish, hunt and just screw around. The 35 is my first street rod attempt(I've had muscle cars but no official rods until now). I run a MailBoxes etc in Atlanta that keeps me going 6+ days a week. Other than that I drink beer, watch tv and do the honey do list.

Beaumont, small world isn't it!! We are about 15 miles apart. I'm in London. I don't know if this is correct or not, but doesn't your wife or sister work at the college? Good to have you onboard. There's a couple of other locals hanging around here as well.

Hi Larry, you'll find there are a core group of about 50 members here that you will really get to know regardless of their profile info or lack of info. There are some "members" that post a photo of their ride, maybe visit once, then are never heard from again. Awhile agao Jason cleaned out all the old dead weight, and the membership was just about cut in half. The guy that turned me on to this site 2 years ago, posted photos of his rod, rods that he had built and sold, and photos of our other local "Mickey Mouse Club" members' cars. Most of those guys don't even have computers!! He would be what we call a lurker, and there are plenty of those here. I personally know of more then 20 guys that visit this site yet never share their knowledge with us. Doesn't matter how much info is in their profile, you'll never "meet" them on the roundtable.
The 50 or so members that frequent (are addicted to) the roundtable are the ones that your going to be happy you've met. They are going to share the knowledge they have in their head with you no matter how much stuff is listed in their profile or not listed. Like George (purplepickup) said, after a while you will begin to piece together a ton of info about everyone here. Most of the members personalities really show thru in their posts. Kick back and absorb, everything will fall into place shortly.
From what I gather from Wayne (Rochie) you live real close to him and John (Bigdog). I'll be hooking up with them at the indoor show in London the weekend of March 22nd. You'll have to meet up with us.
Bowtie, I'll be in Lincoln in May and would be happy to take your photo, scan it, and then send it too you so you can post it here. That goes for anyone who I've met in the past and have taken a photo of. If you need me to send you the cropped, small version of your face, just let me kow. I'll be glad to help out, I love to play with photos on the computer. (there's a hint to one of my passions) LOL
Again, glad to have you here Larry.

Well..... I am 53, work for the government ( not the FBI ),married a super lady 28 years ago after 8 years of dating. I do not get in any hurry! We do not have kids--yet. No hurry. In 1969 I went to Gatlinburg TN for the Mid-South Rod Run and saw a black all steel DEUCE roadster and said that 1 day I would own it. Now I do. It was just the body but it it the same 32 I lusted after in 69. Took 10 years to get it on the road. No hurry. My wife likes to go the the events and wanted a rod of her own and we got her a 40 Ford STD coupe. She wants it nice so I bought a TCI complete show frame for it. After I unloaded it off the freight truck, it has sat for 2 years. No hurry.WE always go to NSRA Knoxville, Loiusville and Shades of the Past. Have not missed Daytona in 20 years either. I normally am not this open for people I do not know BUT the statement you made about a second chance at life..... I can relate to. I was dead on the floor this past summer when the emergency medical staff EMS got to my home. No pulse, no breatheing, DEAD. My wife got me a computer so I could pass the time and I found out I liked computers and the web. 5 by-passes later I have discovered that I might should get in a hurry. No pictures for my rides yet..... too computer uneducated so far but working on it ...... almost in a hurry..almost ..... nice chatting to you ...

Thanks ever-so-much all, for contributing personally to me and letting me share a small part of your lifes. Reading between the lines and piecing a ton of info. together on the contributing members is well taken from George (Purplepickup) & Denise (hotrodladycrusr). Also Denise, thanks for letting me know about meeting in London on March 22nd with Wayne (Rockie) and a few. I marked it in my calander and maybe I could meet with the entourage. Keep me posted! Yes Rockie, small world as you know my wife from work. SteelDuce, thanks a ton, your story touched me. Randy, we all love happy endings, don't we? God bless your recovery.
