I have been thinking about going to the Frog Follies this year and was wondering how many of you have attended.Any pros or cons on this event? How much does it cost to "rent a frog"?

I have been going to this event for about 20 yrs. You can't beat it for the price. Great T-shirt(Thom Taylor art), free meal on Sat. night, reasonable food prices, huge swap meet, lots of vendors, band on Sat night. It is about the best organized event I have ever been to. The bad things are that it is usually very hot, and it is getting pretty crowded. They have some of the same problems that all of the large rod runs have with power parkers, lawn chairs, canopys, etc., but I still recommend it.

Bill, I went to the Frog Foolies for the first time this year. What a blast! It does have everything the "big" shows have but it's got that friendly, down home, small town club feel. Along with all the goodies mentioned above, theres also a dash plaque and hot wheels car included. All for $15.00! But I didn't notice the heat cuz it was RAINING so hard. LOL
I went with a group of ladies on a road trip called the Lipstick Run. One of the destinations this year was the Frog Follies. All the ladies have their own rods. We joined up at the begining of the week in the Chicago area (the other ladies are from Winapeg) and did rod shop tours along with the downtown area. While in Chicago, one of the girls bought a "biker" frog at the Harley shop. On the Thursday before the Frog Follies as we were making our way to the southern tip of IN, (a short 4 hour trip that turned into 8!), we stopped at a number of watering holes. One was called Runts Bar. I'm not much of a drinker but I do like to have fun. By the end of our "visit" there, I ended up behind the bar making Frog Dogs for everyone!!! I've never had so much fun getting to a show then with this group of girls!! Had a blast with them, even in the rain!!
You will not be disappointed at all with this show, except for maybe the power parkers. It was the first time I actually saw tarps spread out and staked down to save spots!! That's going alittle too far in my opinion. Awesome show though!

It sounds like a good time- Just what are the ingredients in a "Frog Dog" anyhow? Anyone else been to this show?

If your'e planning on coming to Evansville for the show, you better make reservations NOW! All the hotels generally are gone as soon as they are built. Contact me (off list) for hotel info if interested. I'd be glad to help!
