This is for my 37 Plymouth. I want to change the master cylinder from the original single to a dual master. Here is my question. Can I fabricate a mount and weld it to the bottom of the master cylinder and it be safe to use? Let me explain. I have a Mustang cylinder, that I have welded a mount to the bottom of it. It is made of 1/4 inch steel flat plate. My plan is to mount it to the original mounting bracket, so I can keep the original location of the floor pedals. I don't want swing pedals. I can't mount it any other place account of the exhaust being in the way. Like mounting it in reverse in the frame. I have welded the bracket to the housing and have tried to break it of with several blows from my trusty hammer. But it will not come off. I have hammered it to the point that I thought I was going to break the master cylinder itself.
I do know that they have finally manufactured on for my car, but it's still the problem of where the exhaust rons through the frame. There is no other place to run the exhaust. So, how about some thoughts on this.
