Since I'm kinda new to the whole car event scene, it would be a great help if some of y'all would offer up a list of your favorite events, and why you like them. I'm not much for lawn chairs, so I lean more toward events that feature related activities like concerts, open street cruisin', swap meets, or preferably all three!
With that in mind, Wildwood NJ has been a real hoot. It lasts for several days, and is held twice a year (May and Septemberl). The rodders seem to take over the town for the weekend. Cars cruisin' everywhere. A great 2-day car show on the Boardwalk. Plenty of nightspots with live entertainment. Excellent seafood restaurants. What Wildwood lacks is a good swap meet. There are a few t-shirt and junk tool vendors in a parking lot, but nothing to write home about. Maybe the newly constructed Convention Center scheduled to open next year will change that...

York NSRA Nats East in York PA the first weekend in June is a great one, 2 times a year in Ocean City MD (2nd weekend in May 3rd weekend in October) is another great one, 3,000 registered another 2,000 + just there to hang out. Harrington Delaware Fairgrounds 3rd weekend in Junes a good 3 day'er, Fredrick MD 3rd weekend in Octobers a nice one with everything your looking for. If we back up to Labor Day Cumberland MD Allegheney Co. Fairgrounds 22 miles South of the PA turnpike holds a week long show (week long for most that like to camp in the "perfect" spot) Thursday-Monday Labor Day for the actual show. And to my knowledge that just about covers all the biggies around these parts.

Were you at Harrington this year Slammin? I was, but dont remember seeing the panel. If you drove something else, I may have taken a picture of it. Harrinton was a roit too! I even got my ride to balance on the teeter-totter. Dave

No Dave, I missed this years show. I was gonna go but the morning I was supposed to leave something came up so I had to cancel. I'll probably be back up there this coming June, so maybe if your goin' we can meet up. Come to think of it Junes a busy month for me. York then Gettysburg PA KKOA Kustoms show the following weekend then Harrington the third weekend then a local show and HOPEFULLY June will end.
Julys a off month exept for some small local events then August September and October it all picks back up and gets busy till Januarys World of Wheels show then it's all over for me.
I know what you mean about Harrington being a wild show, I was there the year they held the burnouts and flamethrower contest under the covered mini horse track, 20 to 50 ft. + flamethrowers + freshly painted metal roof = scorched roof, and the smoke show was wild!
Never tried the teeter totter for fear I'd beat it to death and rip the motor mounts out and or rip up the body (dont wanna redo 38+ body mods)
Hope to run into ya this year over in Harrington

Shows that are great,......my favorites are: INDY Goodguys, Pigeon Forge superweek (Shades of the Past and The Grand RUN) all stuffed into two weekends back to back...... 8000cars all week long, Myrtle Beach (need I say more...beach), Cruisin the Coast, and Frog Follies (different), Pleasanton (too far for me), Rhinebeck and Back to the 50s (really a cool place and time).
I am not so crazy over, (but you will have to go to just experience it yourself at least once) NSRA Louisville (hot, stinky parking lot but the vendors are great if ya got $$ to spend), GGs Columbus (another parking lot but at least lots of shade and the vendors are sparce compared to L'ville).
I will predict that GGs Orlando will go bye bye next year (very small and no bucks...but hey what do I know?), so you better hurry if you want an excuse to go visit the Magic Kindom. The Friday night parade out of the "Oldtown" not GGs related I might add, is pretty cool.
I will also predict that there will be a major cruising event in Atlanta in 2003 at the AMS for at least two days and will be an open show and the largest show east of the Mississippi. Just a hunch....er ah yeah....that's the ticket.
