I have a 53 Desoto with a 276 hemi bored to 330...
Just did a complete tune up except for the plug wires..
seems they're a little special and pricy too..
Does anyone know of any hemi nutts out there that could turn me on to a set of plug wires, or know of someone who can??..

Plug wires for anything nowadays aren't cheap.

If you have the original bakelite or porcelain spark plug covers, you can make up a set yourself. If not, you have to buy ready made sets for the late 426 and use them. I think Taylor's the only company that makes 'em. Classic enterprises in New Jersey sells a set with teh 426 boots. If you run the original spark plug tube covers (You should, they hold the washers against the rubber gaskets to prevent oil seepage) you won't need the boots.

Thanks Skip...I have a buddy who may have some Chrysler hemi wires..he says they're new, but I don't know.
Inasmuch as the boots are concerned, I haven't had the wires off yet to figure out what kind of boots are there, but I need to wait until I have new ones to replace these because I want to keep the car running for now and am afraid if I pull wires out, they'll disinigrate.
Are you familiar with the plugs they ran on the Desoto hemi?
My buddies seem to think they are probably Champions ..
Thanks again..

Hi Duane,

My Champion book shows52-55 DeSoto V8, except '55 Fireflite takes a XJ-20Y, gapped at .035. It doesn't show any crosses in the back for Autolite or AC. Hope this helps.
