Cam Help

On the 327-350 HP Corvette engines from the 60's the cam had a lift and duration of .440". Can anyone tell me the lift and duration on a 302 Z-28 and the same on a four barreled 283? I'm starting to gather parts for the engine and need to know these cam specs. Thanks in advance. RRM

Grump, Jason will be putting the photos up from Daytona on SRS soon. I got a great one of the milk truck at the track. I'm bummed out about one thing. With all the time we spent by your truck, I didn't take one shot of you and your truck. :( Also, your buddy, the one that keeps the Citrus County Cruisers tent safe and warm when not in use, has my folding blue chair. At some point will you get it from him and keep it for yourself? Don't even know why I even brought it, didn't sit in it long enough to justify bringing it. LOL

Happy Holidays

Saw that one upclose at York back in '99. Talk about attention to detail and super clean!

Before the panel came along we had a idea on doing a bus, Jerry Bowers out of Delaware beat us to it with his Lo Life High bus, so we moved on to UPS or Divco Milk truck back in '98 and '99, that got blown out of the water when we saw that one at York. Cant do a fire truck since a friend had a wild lookin lime green one. How 'bout a dump truck or tanker/box trailer tractor trailer????

See ya

Locally (metro Detroit) there's a dump truck and a cement mixer. Both very cool. Grant, don't let the fact that someone has already done it stop you. Everything has been done at least once. I don't think you can come up with something that has NEVER been done by someone, somewhere.

What's all about originality? You mean you don't have enough imagination to do one of these in an original way? I'm sure you could come up with a few ideas that would set it apart from the cookie cutter mail trucks.

By the way I like the original ideas you used on your panel. Blitz black and flames....who'd a thunk?....just razzin' ya.

For the ones of you that are daring, the windshield wiper motor assemblies out of these are real handy for a streetrod. They are close to "bolt in and use".

hi, as you can see by the other post the 302 cam is really wild for the street. i had a 69 Z-28 and the gas mileage was terrible(10-11 mpg}. i think the 283 cam is probably a close to stock 2bbl cam. i have just completed the running drive train in my nostalgia A-coupe,i am using the second cam i thought was right and i am still not happy(this is getting expensive}i now am consulting with COMP CAMS for advice and they seem to be really tuned in to the customers wants for SOUND and PERFORMANCE.as a note, i have checked on a GM 350-350h.p. cam{450,460 lift,224 duration @.050 lift,114 lobe seperation)and the wholesale price is over 165.00 just for the cam. i dont know how they sell these things.anyway, comp cams has a new line of nostalgia cams that you might look at on their web site..good luck,dalecarbuff@aol.com
