Car height vs coil-over adjustment.

I love the stance of my coupe but am not too keen on how it's gotten there. It seems the rear coil-overs (Aldan), are adjusted almost all the way up the available threads. It seems to me that this keeps the shock in a extended position and allows only a minimum of suspension travel. This may have been done not only for stance appearance but to prevent further tire rub on the body, upper wheel well. It's been suggested that I switch to 225# progressive coils as a fix though I'm not sure that would do it.
After reviewing the situation I think I have a possible solution but thought I'd run it by here first. The lower attaching bolt is in the bottom of 3 possible positions. It looks like it's about 1 1/4" center to center from one hole to the next. If I do nothing except raise the attaching point to the top hole, wouldn't I raise the rear approximately 2 1/2"? If this is the case I could then back off the coil-over adjusting nut until the car returned to the preferred height. By raising the bottom attaching point it seems I would also be increasing the angle of degrees between the top and bottom mounting positions thereby helping in lateral stability somewhat. Am I thinking clear? Is there something more I should know? Thanks, Frank

Your thinking is correct. The way to set it up is get your ride height were you want it(maybe block the chassis or measure). Now with the shock in the middle of its travel(with the spring removed) figure out what hole will work for you.Now reinstall the spring and set the height back to what you had with the shock in the middle of its travel. Did i expalin it OK?? Its pretty easy.

Frank just one other thought.Try like heck not to get the shocks over 15 degree angle in at the top. As they are angled in the shocks get softer to a point but then at 15 degrees the travel starts to suffer. Also(this wont help you cause its allready welded) Try to put the lower shock mounts close to the bottom of the rim and out to the tire as close as possable without going past the scrub radius.(or hitting the tire) From there you put the shock in the center of its travel than figure were the crossmember goes at ride height.(thats when your buildin one ,for next time
