Having never met a message board before, or Roundtable etc, I never knew that I was supposed to properly introduce myself & then chat. I kept lurking & then 1 thread excited me so I responded & have been here since. This intro and the non-use of capital letters which means yelling on the net is what I've learned lately. Can you give more suggestions on what you've learned for netiquette?

Never post a picture of yourself wearing shades. People want to see the eyes, so they know you're not scorning them secretly.
You can express your emotions in many ways, with your keyboard;
LOL - Laughing out loud
LMAO - Laughing my *ss off
OMG- O'h my god
:) - I'm smiling
:( - I'm sad
:P - I'm smiling with my tongue hanging out
XOXO- Hugs and kisses

Or picking your nose, not a good look for a Lipsticker. Curlers wouldn't be a good idea either. :)

Your both really pushing your luck with me, remember I dont get mad, I get EVEN! I cant remember all those little symbols, Denise was trying to teach me them but I flunked netiquette 101, pic posting and sunglasses. No glasses? That's like telling me I cant wear shorts in summer, I live in them. Hey, it took a whole day to screw with the pic just to cut it & I dont think I have any without glasses that aren't scary. No, no nose picking, no curlers.
But more, U guys have been around, what else is obvious etiquette?

More, I need to know more. I only learned about the intro after being on the board myself for a few months & then still wondered what the heck a newbie was. The capital letters happened when 1 of my friends asked another a question, all in caps & it went over like a lead balloon.
1 of the regulars was kind enough to explain its yelling. What else? Nows your chance to teach me. Rule #11. Gingles.Well, he cant help it.

Don't e-mail the baby sitter and ask her what she's wearing.
Don't talk about your boss, he might be monitoring.
Don't mess with Texas OR Lugnut.
Don't make racial comments, you don't know who's looking.
DON'T EVER believe that the person your chatting with is a 21 year old college co-Ed that's blonde, 36-26-32. She's more like divorced, mother of 5, grey, and smokes like a chimney.

Be careful when talking to people from other countries!
On the RRT we were having a disscusion about the girls in American Rodder. I said I'd rather see real woman and their or there husbands cars, rather than the silicon sisters. I used you for an example. I said "she's cute and she's real!"
Carps "Peter Carpenter from OZ" jumped all over me and said you were not cute. I asked him to explain.
He said in OZ cute means ditzy airhead blonde. And since you didn't fall into that catagory, you were attractive not cute.
Whatever! hehe

Okay, I'm going to solve this problem. EVERYONE in the world will have to start speaking/writing English from now on. That way, we'll all know what everyone is talking about. We'll all call that piece of metal covering the engine a HOOD, not a bonnet, cause girls wear bonnets on their head. The back will be a TRUNK, not a boot, cause we all know that a boot is what covers the convertible top when you put it down (or what you wear on your feet). I've given just a couple examples...feel free to add more.

A few years ago I restored an MGB, and there is a website much like this one for British cars. When I mentioned that my wife had ordered a "learn to shag" video I found out that in England shagging is slang for horizontal dancing.

PAY for an Austin Power movie? I didn't know you could do that! lol. I've watched it on either satellite or broadcast tv, or both. I can't see paying such high prices for some of these movies these days. My daughter took me to see the star wars movie a couple weeks ago. What a rip! The attack of the clones, which was the name of the episode, won't happen until the next movie. Won't go again.
