Prairie Kettle Popcorn

We took a bike ride to Mt. Carroll, IL. today, just because it's been a while since it's been warm enough, and there was a small car show there during Mayfest. It wasn't well thought out, as the cars were all hodge-podged onto a hilly lot, next to a fenced-off area for eating and drinking and dancing (and you had to pay to get in). Anyway, we were looking at a really nice '67 GTO Vert, and next to it a red '67 Plymouth vert. About 30 feet away, inside the fenced area, they were popping kettle corn, and the oil was being blown by the wind, and covering all these fine cars.

I was talking with the GTO owner, and he was rather upset, seeing as how he got his Poncho to where you could shave using his paint as a mirror. Just a thought for when you take your cars/trucks to a show, you might want to park upwind of the kettle cookers.

Phil,

Had something similar happen to me at Americruise couple of years ago. Came back to the coupe and it had a film on it. Finally figured out the burger place a few yards down was Barbecuing their burgers on a huge propane grille (3'x8') and the heat was making the grease rise up and than the wind blew it all over the cars parked in that area. Learned fast on that one.

One similiar problem was at a show when they threw a promotional car show flyer in my car - top up but no side curtains,it rained & the neon pink ink soaked into the lt gray interior - I expressed concern to the folks, that, although it wont hurt me as I was replacing my interior anyways, others might not be as thrilled...something to think when throwing in flyers...

This past weekend at a show I got "smoked". The idiot that was making the pit beef might as well done it by building a bonfire and not in his grill.

I know they say where theres smoke theres fire..we'll he had 2 foot flames and smoke was terrible. I'm talking white out where I was till I moved.
