Hey, Don`t joke around here, I found out the hard way that it is not appreciated. Too many "sensitive" people take offence to shop talk type joking. Be careful. Hate mail sucks.

Slammin:
Even though you have a new version of Norton, you still need to go online to their website and download the latest "Virus Definition Files", reboot your machine and then rerun the virus sweep. You'll need to have a registered version of Norton Anti Virus to be able to get the latest updates on-line.
BTW, I recommend that you go to the Norton website and download the newest definition files about once a week from now on, so your virus protection always remains current.
Yes, it's a pain in the butt, but it's unfortunately a necessary evil.
I do it (download new definition files) every few days, but I get a ton of e-mail messages with attachments every single day. It's part of the fun of being a webmaster.

My computer does directly to the wedsite once a week, I think on Friday late night, and uploads it directly to my computer automaticly. Grant, try to set that up, then it turns into a no brainer.

At work here, I have the e-mail virus scanner (Trend) set up to download 4 times a day. Seometimes that is not even enough as fast as they come out. We have about 1200 people on e-mail and get hit on average, 10 times a day from e-mail alone. Amazying how many come from the same sender time after time, even though we send out a message to them that their computer is infected.
The desktop scanners (Norton)update daily. Just fixed a friends computer, he had at least 5 diferent virus patterns on it. Fdisk will fix anything. I set his up to call in every day to update the dat files. I would not trust weekly for any machine that is part of a mailing group.

Unfortunately I know. But you have to do the best you can. I even had a dream (nightmare)last night about getting a virus that infected us here at work.
