Anybody know where I can get a headlight switch shaft & knob for a 79 Camero type push/pull GM headlight switch?
I cut mine off too short last year now it won't work with the new thicker fiberglass dash.

Local parts store will probably have 'em.

Give that a try.

Seems to me the shaft had a clip on it that you could remove to get it to pull out. If you don't mind digging there's always a junkyard.

just about all G.M. cars that have the push pull type switch use the same shaft with only knob variations.go to the salvage yard and find one and just stick your hand under the dash and press the little spring loaded button on the bottom of the headlight switch and pull the shaft out. it is that easy. i may have a billet aluminum one laying around if you need it,i will look tomorrow. good luck....DALE

Dale;
Got a new switch at O'Reileys but the stem & knob don't come with the switch. Local Chevy dealer no help.
If you find one laying around let me know. I have a billet knob, just need the shaft.
