Anybody have a diagram of how to install the brackets and rubber bumpers for a 1930 roadster rumble seat. Do you really need the inner pan to install those? Need a close up view if you have one.

Never owned a Model A but if you are talking about the brackets and rubbers that keep the rumble lid from hitting the bottom of the vehicle, they repro them for 1932's and should work OK in a Model A. Helped a friend with his 32.
1) I attached the rubber to the bracket with the 2 rivets included ____ 2 brackets required.
2) Lowered the rumble lid with the rubber and brackets positioned to keep the lid from hitting bottom.
3) After determining the best place for the brackets (two required for the 32) drilled 2 holes per bracket in the floor being careful that nothing was at risk of being hit by the drill bit. The 2 holes were already drilled in each of the brackets.
4) installed the brackets using ny-lock nuts and the job was done.
This is not the correct AACA approved method but it's a HOT ROD and it worked for me......
A drawing of the brackets and the rubbers are in a Bob Drake catalog my friend had. That is who he ordered them from.

The problem here is--I have four brackets, two are bent from Sheet metal and two appear to cast alum. plus the two rubber stops. The lid will not hit the bottom of the roadster but it will hit the rear sheet metal or lower body panel below the lid. Now reading the parts books calls for a inner sheet metal pan that I think these brackets attach to. This panel is curved as well think?. Even if I had the panel it is still a mystery how these brackets go on.
I had a hard enough time just trying to get the swivels to work right for the deck lid. Some of the instructions you get these days leave a lot to be desired to say the least. Anyway just need a good exploded view of how they go on a stock A-Bone rumble seat.

Well I don't know for sure but IF I read this right, you need to adjust the rumble lid so it does not hit the lower rear panel first. After this is done, the rumble stops should be able to be worked out. If this is not it..... Sorry...... never had a Model A.

It does not hit it untill the lid is in the upright position and if the stops are not there it will rub the back body panel. Randy I can see no way to mount the stops on the floor. They must be mounted to the side braces or this panel that shoud go there. That's why I needed the diagram to see what is going on here.

I had a 30 model A roadster. the easiest way to show you how they fit is to direct you to call snyder's antique auto in Newspringfield,Ohio, for their catalog, full of parts and diagrams. But, in the absence of it... the bottom stamped steel brackets are origionally riveted to the stock floorpan/seat riser. They have the rubber bumpers held to them with screws and nuts, the cast brackets are the swivels for the rumble seat itself. I really recommend getting Snyder's catalog, even if only for refrence. you can buy any part needed to redo your model A or fix what is needed!!
