Steering Gear Box

Would like some input ladies and gentlemen. I just finished rebuilding my steering gear box on my 63 Ford Stepside. What do I refill the box with for lubrication purposes...grease or gear oil? When I opened it up to rebuild it, it was full of this dark black looking thick stuff. Thanks Capn

Gear oil is correct but I've used grease for a quick fix if it was leaking! Until I had more time to fix!

Gear oil unless it pees on the floor then it's grease! With a fresh rebuild you should be ok with the oil.
