Found these four pieces in one of the boxes of stuff I got with Big Olds and I can't for the life of me figure out what they are. There are 2 sets of two pieces. The 2 sharpe pointed things sticking out seem to be made of glass. It seems these screw on to something and whatever was attached to them was pop riveted on. Any clues? :)

I guess I should have taken the photo but a buddy was over with his digital camera and this is the shot he took. I'll try and play with it in photoshop and enlarge it, or I guess I'll take a picture with my camera and post later this weekend. Thanks for taking a peek at it though. :)

Denise
Just a wild guess but they might be for a set of wind deflectors that screwed on to the windshield post. Used to see them on a lot of old sports cars.

I first thought the visor thing too but can't figure out why there would be 4 of them unless 2 are for the visors and 2 are for the wind deflectors like you guys are thinking? Makes sense, especially with the little pieces of glass sticking out of them.

Denise, I'm voting for wind wing brackets. I had a '34 Ford roadster years ago and it had wind wings. They were glass devices that were attached to the windshield stanchions by chrome plated pivot brackets which look very similar to the ones you show. Of course, they could very well be doohickies, thingamabobs or whatchamacallits. Or, none of the above. Just my guess. Incidentally, I haven't forgotten to get you the proper phone number for Brian, I just kinda went into brain shutdown. I'll get back on it today.

Denise,
They are sun-visor brackets, 2 for each side. There should be two sets of matching screw holes between the windshield and the flat that the top clamps to. The sun-visors slip into the slots and were originalli riveted or maybe had some sort of sleeve nut. The visors ony pivot up and down, not out to the side. Same on my '40 Chevy convert.

I don't know, you could hang them on the wall and use them as paper towel holders! How unique would that be?
