Tyvek is a plastic roll. Probably talking about some form of celotex foam board. Though it's usually a half inch thick or more. There is a foam board that goes behind vinyl siding thats thinner but it has folds that I think would show. One problem we're having is carpenters use generic names for stuff in different parts of the country.Where's all the home builders on this board??

Was in Lowe's this AM. They don't have anything thin enough to work. Might just be this small "country area" we live in .Will check in the big city or steal some from some north side guys 35.

I use two sources for closed cell foam.
For 1/4" use Southland Fabrics 1-800-251-6312
For 1/8" the only people I know that carry this stuff is KarCare in Atlanta... 770-934-1333.
I did the interior of all my cars except did not stitch the seats. My 32 is above in the picture using these foams and rod doors panels.

Great job Steve. When can I bring Big Olds down for his interior treatment! LOL ;)

Your "top-less" cruzn buddy, Denise
After it leaves me...gotta give it that Hippy-Esque panel paint job first. Maybe a murial of Lugnutz on the hood? Im thinking a nice crushed velvet sculptured interior with some fuzzy furr around the bottom of the windows would do just the trick!
Oh did Debb and I tell ya we have some Dayton wires on order and Reds Hydraulics? hehehehehe

I played around with scuplting under carpet and fabric with my TD, and my 49 chevy truck. under the hood was of my TD was done in grey carpet with sculpted flames. I used coroplast, you know that stuff that looks like plastic cardboard. I've made door panels, kick panels, and will be using it to do my trunk this winter. 4x8 sheets sell for any where from $6.00 to $10.00. It's really easy to draw your pattern on, then cut it with a razor knife. It's waterproof so it won't warp up like masonite. You can pick it up at most instant sign shops. It's available in several thicknesses, and colors.
I'll upload a photo to my holidate site and link it here.

Rob, you point about sign shops is a good one. There are many materials there that can be used for many underpinning applications and very malable.
In the back section of the 32 the "semi tub" part that is a compound radius I used styrene sheet for a panel that I simply heated with a heat gun to attain the shape and then covered the panel in multilayering of leather subpanels making the sculped look.
I also used sign board corrogated styrene for making speaker panels in my wifes 69 Camaro rear window space that is very flexible so I can put it in for top up speakers or take it out for top down crusing.
YOur point about water proof is the biggest feather tho...
