Does anyone out there have any ideas as to where a fellow could buy parts of,or even a complete, indoor car show setup?? I already have the wheel stands, but I need a really neat or different set of stanchions and lights.I want to be able to do a 20x20 area. I have been on the ISCA web site and found some pieces there, but I am still in need.
Thanks very much.

Well, Dr.J, all I got to see at that site was some aliens lying down in a row. Then, my IE browser crashed. Same thing happened three times in a row. They must be from Area51.
I gotta go, someone knocking at the door.

I was lucky to get away alive. I answered the door, and some aliens came running in, knocked me down, and told me to quit going to that website. Then they typed some messages to some of their alien buddies....better keep your eyes open.

Go with neat or different. Noraml stanchions aren't going to get you the "look"/outcome you want. I'll e-mail you with my thoughts on the subject tomorrow.
If you really want/need them, my car club has enought black ones to cover a 20X20 display and I'm sure you can borrow them.

Theres a guy around here in MD or PA somewhere with a black T Bucket that always out does himself every year at the Halloween Run in Frederick MD. I'm talking caskets, manequins, skulls, various other bones and even a glass jar full of eyeballs and ofcourse ya got pumpkins scare crows and the normal every day Halloween stuff, this is all scattered around the car. Wins the Best Halloween Car Display every year!
Show up this year Bob? He usually parked along the front stretch of the horse track facing Main Street.

Denise,I was afraid you did not love me anymore !!!! You guys are coming up with some REALLY different ideas for my display.Got to tell you one though. Instead of 220 volts try using an electric fence charger, the stronger the better.... Does not take the thieves long to let go of your ride when they are trying to steal your rims !!!!!! And you have the added benefit of hearing them wet themselves!!!

Are you getting e-mails from other folks? I can't imagine why your not getting mine? Do you have another address that I can send it too? I could post it here but it's a VERY opinionated statement regarding stantions and it's statements I would normally send in an email not post on here. Yes, world I am very opinionated! LOL :))

So does this mean when ya put Big Olds indoors for a show or two you'll have the most creative display....a couple pit bulls maybe? LOL

Nope, I'll probley use stantions just like the regular folks do that stick their cars in BUT my cars are in for the FUN of it. I'm not doing the shows for ANY award or points. My goal, and more serious contenders goals, for indoor shows are different. If you have a high end car, in one of the Autoramas for instance, you need a high end display, not cheesey stantions. ;) All my opinion of course.

I couldn't agree more! There was a 28 Chevy that toured the east coast ISCA shows for about 3 years that had just as much $$ in the display as the car if not more. We're talking solid teak wood surrounding the whole car with a mirrored floor/base under the whole car, solid brass stanchion poles and brass wheel stands. The car was pretty much in a bath tub of teak wood the way it was set up as the mirrors were glued down to the teak floor/base.
Turns out, Pres./CEO of a major corporation. I think it's safe to say, the car and display was chump change for a big up like this guy. But isn't that the case for most that tour the country? LOL

Yes,it is true I want a nice display,BUT I am not willing to spend more on the display than I have on the truck ! I want to try to find something,or pieces of other displays that I like,to build mine out of. I have a nice set of wheel stands and carpet is not a problem, but I need something that isn't 'cheesy' or everyday-run-of-the-mill for stanchions. Something low, un-obtrusive and able to hold a light or two is all I ask. And I will need at least six, and eight would give me more flexability of design.

Of course we don't want you to spend alot of money on the display. We want to make sure you have enough left over after your done with the truck to fill your cooler (a few times over) with beer and Mike's Hard Lemonade, for us ladies, while you and the truck are here in Detroit for the Autorama. Your going to be surprised how many SRS members will be showing up at your truck that weekend. :))

Denise,it sounds like I will have to add a 'fridge to the enclosed trailer !!! I am looking forward to meeting every one of you from SRS at Detroit. Look for the old hippy with the ponytail.I just pray to God we get it done in time. I just read an article on one of Ridler contenders from last years show. They said that they had a fellow in the trailer, working on the car,on the way to Detroit !!! Now that's cutting it close !!!

High end display? The '35 Chevy that took the Riddler in Cobo last year probably had more $$$ in his billet display UNDER the car then most of us have wrapped up IN our cars, not to mention his high $$ surround. But I guess when you spend close to a million dollars to build a car it's only natural to have a display like that.

I made my own from old flywheels then those got painted.I then made poles out of stainless which bolted through the bottom of the flywheels and used some chain with hook loops to go around the sides. The nice thing about doing it this way is their heavy enough they wont slide into a car when kids hang on them or run into them. Just an idea.

Have a friend here that had a 57 fuely and was into the show thing .. mirrors etc. I went to a run with him one time and took my 41 ford coopay. I taped a pin-up of Betty Grable underneath and laid a mirror on the grass. Everyone loved it 'cept him. Point is .. do what you like .. can't please everyone! Sheesh .. I've posted here more today than my grand total since joining the SRS.
