Thanks Guys...It did turn out OK but it WAS a real PAIN!!If the weather gives me a break,I hope to put a few miles on it yet this year.I do remember when 37's were not so desirable...try to buy one now!Bob,Mike, you guys know you are welcome to stop by anytime...in fact was just talking with the wife and was discussing how fast the Fall is slipping away and that we should have one more BBQ before winter arrives.I will confirm a date with her and post an invitation here soon....Hope everyone who is relatively close can make it!The 37 is for sale and an ad should appear in Swap Stuff as soon as Jason gets time to post it,I have a 36 Coupe that should be finished by spring and am freshening up an old original 37 Sedan to drive around locally as well as several other projects tucked away in the shop.Need to sell the cars as they're finished to fund the projects underway...Sure wish I was wealthy!.Grant, have had several cars show up in the rags, usually after I sell them,as they don't like to photograph rods with signs in the window!Seeing the cars in one of the mags is neat but not nearly as cool as having someone such as yourselves walk up and give it your approval!Well...on to the next one! See Ya!!

What is it with the yellow '37s. Yesterday I had a glimpse of what you went through. I was jacking the front of my '37 up so I could take the grille off and do some body work on it and the crossmember slid off the jack. The sway bar landed on the jack which bent the bar up and into the aluminum radiator and the grill came down and landed on the jack bending the bottom of the grille. The grille was an easy fix, but I've got to get a new sway bar and see if I can send the radiator back to Griffith for repair. It's leaking water around one of the trans fittings and the lower tank is just generally bent up.

Looks great Daryle. If your looking for a destination to cruz it to if/when the weather breaks, bring it to Detroit! Or throw it in the trailer and bring it to Detroit for the Autorama in Feb. We'll get you a spot next to SLICK, put small "for sale" letters in one of the windows, then kick back and hang out, hopefully stuffing your pockets with cash for the cruz home. :)

OOPS, if you haven't figured it out, the previus post was made by me! :)) I'm at Debb's for the weekend and forgot to sign her out and me in before I started in here this morning. :)) We went to a "barn party" last nite thrown by some car friends here in Ft Wayne. About a third streetrodders, a third kustom folks and a third rat rod folks. Great party, great music, huge bonfire. We're getting ready to go to breakie with quite a few of the folks that spent the nite in the area then Deb and I are heading to a few scrapbook stores. Yep, we plan on keeping the economy in Indiana going. LOL

Your "top-less" cruzn buddy, Denise

Debb and I both have another mutual passion besides hot rods and that scrapbooking. There are whole stores dedicated to this. The stores not only offer products for sale but teach classes and have "crop" nites. A crop nite is where a bunch of ladies come to the store and make their pages there. Most are held on a Friday or Sat nite and go till midnite. All the material that we use to create these scrapbooks are acid free and archival quality so that theses books last for generations.
For example, I took all my Power Tour photos from 2000 and made a scrapbook using not only the photos that I took but some from Hot Rod Mag, stickers that are related to the theme, different background papers for each page, etc. We have fancy edged scissors to make nice matting for the photos, we use special adhesive to glue everything to the page, and special colored pens to journal on the pages with.
Not only have I made a PT one, I've done one for my folks as a 40th anniversery present. I made a page for every year in their married life. I also made one with all my biker event photos in it and one from the Lipstick Run last year. One of Debb's is all their car related events that her and Rob have attended in the past couple of years and the other one is the buildup of the Lincoln from start to finish. Both very cool.
I just got my sister into it. She just finished a book on a trip to Washington DC that the family went on earlier this summer. My 10 year old nephew just finished his first page and is planning on doing a book on all his vacations that he's been on.
I'm sure this is more info then you actually wanted! (LOL) BUT if you want more info or you want to see one of these stores in person, the closest one to your place is:
Heartstring Moments
4501 Southern Hills Dr
Sioux City, IA 51106
712-276-3720
If/when you come to visit I'll show you my albums and we'll have Debb bring her's too. If you don't come here, I'll bring one with me for our next get together. :)
Hope I get a chance to check them out in February!I'm not much of a photographer but really do enjoy the photos other people take...I have been told I should start taking photographs as my memory sure isn't what it used to be...I just keep telling them I forget on purpose!

Daryle,
Looks great. That looks like the same color I'm painting my '37. Sell it to someone far, far away so I won't get confused and get in the wrong car, very embarasing.
I've been meaning to get down there to see it but haven't made it yet. I'm still going to try to before it gets real wintery around here, although with snow on the ground and lot's more expected this coming week I may be too late.

Hi Daryle! Looking good! Once sold, someone will enjoy a sweet ride but they likely won't understand the trials you endured in it's creation. I'd love to see the car before it sells, but chances are with a car like that, it'll sell quick. It's cold up here. Now we wait for spring. I'm looking forward to the end of May... Devils Run! Devils Lake ND. Maybe I'll see you there? rj
