Al, take a sliced lemon and rub it where it's turned blue, then spray really good, I mean REEEEEEEEEEALLY good with your water hose so ya get every last bit of the lemon juice off otherwise it'll stay on and turn (burn on to the headers) a nasty brown color.
See ya

Al, try some "Auto Solvol" or "Blue Wenol". I like the Auto solvol better but it's personal choice.

After all these years I asked about the Chrome"Bluing" at a new BIG Harley dealership that just opened near me and the "tech" said that it was the copper intermediate coating for smoothing that caused it. He said if you polish the metal smooth as possible and then use nickle then chrome that it won't turn blue. He also mentioned the old rodders method of coating the inside of the tubes with oil before cranking up that it would "bake" and help prevent bluing. That one never seemed to work for me tho. Anyhow, that't my 2 cents worth!! I have a set on mine that are turning a bit blue but it seems to give it a "driven" look! lol FredP

Seems like someone posted this a few weeks/month ago, and said that bluing was caused by rich mixtures? Lean it up a bit, and the blues stay away? Of course, I can't afford chrome headers anyway, so I don't worry about it.

Phil, I believe it`s the other way around...lean hot headers, rich cooler. When you lean, you make gobs of power and heat.
