Beware of Vintage Glass!!!!!!!

I had these guys make and install my windshield and 2 front door windows.I was told that he was going to install all of the windows, install new window channel(bad wind noise),get the windows to stay in the track so they would operate properly and install wire looms. So far I've spent over $800 to get a half a$$ed job. As most of you know that's where the 35 was backed into (ouch!). I got the front end fixed and called to get the window to close properly (still not following in the track)and to get the wire looms installed. Well I waited, called again and was told he was at a show...I left a message and WAITED! I contacted the credit card company to dispute the charges..they responded saying he was willing to fix it. I took it back and he supposedly fixed it. Currently there is a section of thick rubber gas line in the driver's door only (wire loom?)so the door doesn't close properly, the windshield leaks and the window still doesn't operate in the track!!! There is no wire loom in the passenger door and it whistles a tune down the road from all of the wind noise. I am in process of contacting the Better Business Bureau, the credit company (again) and the Govenor's office for Consumer Affairs. As you can tell this little *#!& has me just a little P.O.'d. If all of that doesn't work then I'll just sue the S.O.B.!!! Thank you all for letting me vent, but this guy shouldn't be in business.

Bill, I sure am sorry to hear your beef and bad things a happening with LP. I was the one that recommended him to you and for the most part I have had very good results. He put all the glass in the 34, 32 and did my dad's 55. I had to tweak the 55 a bit, but was an 9 on a scale of ten.

Persist with him and since I sent you, I am going to call to see what's up! I have sent at least a dozen guys over there. He owes me and moreover I don't want to recommend him if he is getting careless and lazy!

hey....sorry to hear of your problems....... another testament to my saying......never let anyone touch your rod......but you........never, never leave your rod overnite...never- never!!!!!! for any reason!!!!! its part of rodding......... people will even drive it!!!!!
the best thing to do is get a rodder person to work on it or do it yourself........not trying to be a jac***** but ive seen terrible stuff time and time again with rods.
my rod is like my wife .... i made her and ill kill for her....think about it.......

You really need to post the whole guys address since there are about 3 or 4" Vintage glass" places in the USA. I personal deal with Vintage up here in New England and he is one of the best.So......maybe post the whole deal. Sorry your having so much trouble.Sounds like you need a good body shop first.

I was looking to purchase new glass from them this winter. Is there any problems with the glass (size- shape-etc...) Is it that hard to insatll the glass? I was looking to install it myself if it's not to dificult. Their product seemed to be of high quality and they seemed very knowledgable when I talked with them in Louisville. I think they will even be in Evansville this weekend for Frog Follies?

I just received the glass for my truck from them. Purchased it in Louisville cause they had a show special that saved me about $50. Everything they sent me looks pretty good. Won't be installing it for a while so I won't know till then if any pieces need to be trimmed but on initial inspection everything seems in order.

The size of the glass seems to be fine, it's just all of the shortcuts and B.S. that I've been dealing with. A prime example is the installation of the supposed wire looms. He said that he would put them in while he was replacing the windows...that was not done on the first trip to him. The second trip (the repair what you screwed up trip) we asked to get them put in and he only put one in the driver's door and it was thick walled FUEL LINE!!!! I'm sorry guys but if this bozo can't tell the difference between a fuel line and a wire loom that tells me he obviosly doesn't have a whole lot of sense. When I saw their product as the Cherokee show last year I did like what I saw and that's one of the reasons why I decided to have them install it too. They were also close to where I live. That was my mistake and I take full responsibility for that decision BUT he didn't have to be stupid about the installation.
