first ride

after the confusion last night, I got the battery all charged up, rushed home from work and took the 50 out for a spin. Ain't never heard nothing as sweet as the sound that old flathead makes thru those glass packs! The car seems to be pretty solid, does need some work but I think I've got a good platform for building a nice cruiser here. Hopefully Debbie and I'll drive it over to Charlotte in October.

There's nothing quite like the first drive in your old car. I'm sure it will be awhile before the grin leaves your face. :-)

changed out the radiator hoses, put in an new set of points yesterday. We took it for a ride out to our place in the country, this morning. We cruised at 55-60 going out and 65 -70 coming in. Even in the stop and go traffic the temp gauge stayed in the center. Thumbs up every where we went. Trying really hard to wipe the grin off my face!

Bill, in re your post, we were so happy when we got to our place in the country, we've decided to name it after our trip..."Morning Wood" lol
