12:50am Saturday night and I'm on my 4th Grand Marnier as I drop the pan on the 350 trans in preparation of changing the filter. The rear leaking seal is out and the side selector leaking seal is out and I'm ready to replace all while listing to Warren Zevon. Isn't this what I wished for so many years ago at the burger drive-in? I'm just loving it....Slocrow

Theres nothing like the taste of tranny fluid on your pizza with the stereo blasting and a few frostys on hand while repairing the rod. Life is great...Agree?

Couple more and you'll be able to put the rear seal in to stop the selector from leaking and the selector seal in for the filter. Oh by the way are you remembering that you have a hoist or are you doing this from the creeper.LOL

Cute, Jack. As you're well aware, neither of us have ever gotten to that confusion point.
I had just stopped in for my forth and last cocktail of the night and too turn the puter off before rejoining the rod in the garage. I stopped about 3am after exchanging the filter, replacing the pan, tapping in the new selector seal and cleaning the floor. The seal started in a little off square but the 1/2" extended socket straightened it right up. Had to drop the exhaust to get enough room to drive it in but both pipes need to come down anyway so that I can put on the converter inspection cover, now that the leaks will be presumably stopped.
Today I'm planning to take some emery cloth to the yoke as it's pretty rough and I believe is the reason the rear seal got torn up. Hopefully I can polish it up to an acceptable level as a new one is $52 and I don't feel like spending the cash.
It's nice to have an understanding wife.......Frank

Ah yes Grant, Martinis, yea that's it martinis. Them and margaritas were my favorite. Were, as in just pour them down and walla, instant stage six. I would diffidently be afraid of working on the car in that condition. Phat Rat would be exactly correct but it would make for an interesting thread as the hours passed. Would I have to start 3 hours early?

Now if that was me, I'd end up spilling all the tranny fluid on myself.....so now I don't even try and avoid it...I fill up the oil tray, then pour the lot over myself. Saves me a lot of time trying to avoid the enevitable...I'm rather partial to the smell of cats' pee anyway.
