400 TH into 36 Ford pickup stock frame.

Has anyone here installed a chev 400TH into a stock 36 Ford pickup fram. If so what did you do about the X member clearance problems. Thanks for any help.

Your best bet would be to give Chassis Engineering, West Branch Iowa, a call. They have a bolt-in kit for that application. I installed a 4 speed in a 40 Coupe and a C-6 auto in my current 40 pickup, and I completely refabed the x-members on both.

Check out the latest Street Rodder. They show the How-to for a Kit for a 700R4 into a 40 Ford PU. Shouldnt be too much different.

This was also covered in another magazine, last month, but I cannot remember which one.
