slick/SRS springtime tin hunt-PICTURES!

Here is just a teaser to let every one who is planning on attending our get together/tin hunt, that there is some tin left to be bought!! I went over this morning and took some pictures to give you an idea as to the variety and condition of what is there. Did you say you wanted to build a model A pickup? Got 4 that are complete(one is a V-8) and enough parts to build a couple more. Want something a little rarer? How about a 1934 phaeton, right hand drive,COMPLETE and a V-8 car to boot!! 1923 phone-booth "T",got one! Grill shells and fenders hang from the rafters yet! Want to see more?
http://photo.starblvd.net/SKR8PN and go to page 3. Some of the pictures are a little dark, thanks to my batteries going away in my digital camera, but you can get the idea. If you need parts,or a project,it would be worth your while to come and check it out.Prices do not seem out of this world, but the stuff ain't free and it is getting harder and harder to locate,so you be the judge. If you are planning on attending, let me know so we can plan the food and drinks.
The date is April 26th and we are located in Mansfield Ohio, approximately half way between Cleveland and Columbus.E-mail me for directions.
Food and refreshments are on Willy and I,but if you wish to bring something, please feel free. The plan right now is to meet here at our home, head on over to Mr. Bowmans to look around, then return here,to have an outdoor BBQ. If the weather turns to crap,we can take the party into my shop,or down to the game room on the "lower level" of the Branch Ranch. We don't have a LOT of room here at the ranch to stay, but there are a BUNCH of hotel/motels near by,just in case you need one. http://photo.starblvd.net/~SKR8PN/t3-2-3.jpg?i=1050442203

I have walked around Bowmans place twice now. 1st time was last August. I have to tell you,it is like going to a candy store when you are hungry, but broke. So many cars and so little time and money..............Kinda sad that a lot of the cars have rusted pretty badly and are basically just parts cars, but at least the rarer ones were kept under roof and in most cases, faired pretty well. You guys know my heart is with Mopar, but I have a soft spot for woodies and that '48 brings a tear to my eye every time I see it.

hi, im a lurker...

my name is Joe, some of you may know me from the RRT and the HAMB

i have been to this junkyard, its cool. but some of the stuff just seemed way to overpriced to me. that 32 pickup they wanted 7,500 for last time I knew. thats a little much for me... granted it was pretty solid, and hardly any rust.

the A pickup parked by itself in a few of those pics... its complete, he wanted 3,000 last i knew... that had a ton of surface rust

i went in the winter when there was a ton of snow, but i have a few pics here: http://photo.starblvd.net/fordiac

i have a bunch more too, i might put some more on there if someone was interested, but they all have a bunch of snow in them, and it might make someone cold, haha

Fordiac, nice to meet you and welcome to the over the hill gang and beyond!!! there's probably more hair gel used here judging by the pics...lol
A very nice shot ya took! I feel the same way about prices like that..this has become a rich mans game considering that after you pay a ransom then ya have to tear it all down and see if there are no suprises.....
And to think that in 1966 at Ft Rucker Alabama, I gave $300 for a '30 Model A coupe and drove it home and it was as original as sin...Had to sell it when I moved to Dallas due to some hard times but at least it had a 283 in it!
Again, welcome to the fray and have fun!

Fordiac, are you located near Bowmans place, or Mansfield for that matter? Glad to have ya aboard! And yes it is true,he does have some ballistic prices written on stuff, but I believe that is just to surprise the not to serious lookers.Probably gets real tired telling them the real price,so he just ads a couple of zeros on to see the look on their faces. I got the impression that if you make it clear you are serious, the prices become a little more realistic. The other thing I try to remind myself of,is,you can not go down to WalMart and buy this stuff. Henry quit making it a LONG time ago,and if you look at the prices they are getting for the reproduction bodies,it kinda puts things in prospective. It is the old rule of supply and demand. He's got it,it ain't in to bad of shape, and you want it. I'd still give a body part for one of those "A" trucks he's got. It just ain't in the old budget till we get SKR8PN done. Another thing a lot of folks don't realize is,the upper part of that barn is crammed to the RAFTERS with nos parts, that he hasn't even THOUGHT about getting to yet. This is going to be a sale that lasts a long time yet.........

i live in Litchfield, which is just west of Medina. but i go to school at the university of Dayton, so im down in dayton right now.

that 32 pickup in the back under the awning type thing is freekin SWEET.

makes me wish i had a boatload of money, and no other projects....

it was in my dreams for a long time, but i still couldnt justify spendin even 3000$ on something yet. maybe im just too young, and too broke, plus theres all kinds of other cars out there anyway, and the supply wont run out any time soon....

3000 would buy alot of tools, or beer, or help with some of my education, or other car parts, i could build a nice car for 3000 even, or turn that 3000 into more(but i would just spend it on more cars anyway)......

Joe
