Hey gals & guys,

A buddy of mine & I want to go to the nationals. It is a five hour drive so we are looking for a hotel within say 45 minute drive. As usual, any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rick

Hey Rick,
We're staying at the Motel 6 (315) 433-1300 in E Syracuse. Don't know if they still have rooms, but there are about 10 Hotels right in that general area and they can probably give you some other numbers to call. hope this helps.

Rick,
Tell me what you want, and I'll hook you up.
Do you want fancy? Cheap?
They built a new Best Western 1/10th of a mile from the fairgrounds. It opened the Thursday of the nats last year.
Proably booked now, but it may be worth checking into.
Expensive, but worth it!

I stayed at a Quality Inn. The name of the road has escaped me, but, it's right down the road from the Host Hotel. There's a whole bunch of hotels right in that area, and, all are decent.

Charlie,

I am looking for mid-range priced around 80.00-100.00, dry, non-smoking, 2 beds. one or two nites is fine. I tried Motel 6, Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn, and, Best Western. Nothing available. The closer the better, but, willing to travel an hour or less if need be. I really appreciate anything you can do. Thank's, Rick

Try Cortland NY, 33 miles south of Syracuse and it's a 40 minute drive to the fairgrounds. There are four motels and a ski resort with available lodging. 2 Comfort Inns, 1 Econo Lodge and 1 Holiday Inn. The rates are from $40 to $109 per night. I attended the 1995 NSRA nats in Syracuse and found it almost impossibe to find lodging in the Syracuse area. We booked a four bedroom condo at the Greek Peak Ski Area in Cortland and our group of 4 cars and nine people had a ball.

The Inn at the Turning Stone 315-361-8696
Turning Stone Casino 1-800-771-7711
Both are in Verona, about a 20 minute drive to the fairgrounds. The Inn will be cheaper than the one right at the Casino.

Vernon Country Suites, 315-829-3400
About a 30 minute ride to the fairgrounds. It was a Comfort Suites until the guy that built it went to prison. It has a pool, hot tub & exersize room.

There are a ton of mom and pop places around, but I've never stayed at any of them. Could be nice, could be dumps.
