Does anybody out there know of any clubs in Asheville, NC?
Will be moving there soon and would like to contact other rodders. Thanx!

Yes there is a street rod club in Asheville. The name excapes me. The main leader is a guy named PORKY. I have his card somewhere. They do a couple of cruise-ins. They are almost always listed in StreetScence.
Asheville is a beautiful place to live. Close to Charlotte (flea market) and only 1 and 1/2 hours to Knoxville/Pigeon Forge. Lots of GOOD shows in the area.

There is a cruise at west ashville every friday nite but i can't remember the club. It is on hwy 19-23 apx. 1 mile west of I40 in a old shoppin center on the right next to the sonic drive in. I am about 50 miles south but i try to drop by the cruise 3 or 4 times a year to see what is new and check out old friends. Good luck.

Check at www.hemmings.com there is a regular cruise in at Brevard...not too far from Asheville...20 miles maybe..I think it's a once a month deal.

Good move Bopper, but bring the snow shovel as they do get some white stuff in the winter months. An short trip to Charlotte will reward you with a summer nite cruise-in about every, yes, every nite of the week.
Be sure to hook up with us once the dust settles in your new digs, and we will fill you in. Bring your ride and All your spare parts. We like fresh spare parts. Welcome to the warm south. Oh, one more thing, an all-the-way burger here has cole slaw on it.

It's been 30 plus years since my last visit there but I had a lot of fun while I was there. About all I really remember is there's a great man made lake outside of town we use to go fishing at, them days we used a .22 and bread crumbs. Worked like a charm. Worst part was in the winter they drained the lake and left the houseboat 50' up the shore high and dry. Not many rods around then, mostly farm tractors and fiddle playin but by now thankfully things have changed alot
