Well stuff happens when you drive them.

Drove over to Elbertton GA last night (180 - 200 miles 1 way) for a cruise-in and the ole 40 was hit from the rear by a Chevrolet pickup. I was less than a 1 mile from the event. He had insurance papers and HE got the ticket so maybe it will be fixed by the insurance company.

Sorry to see that mess, Randy. If his insurance company will fix it, will you be able to find parts? We took a long bike ride yesterday to northern IL, and had an idiot tailgating me. A Harley riding friend of mine said that there were times when he carrries a pocket full of ball bearings to drop on the road at such times....LOL. That would do a job on someones headlights...or more. Good luck with getting your car fixed.

Stay ontop of it untill it's settled and overwith....when I got hit in my daily driver last year, one week to the day of the accident, the woman with the LEAST ammount of damage complained of neck injuries..easy money..Threw a lawsuit on me and I threw one right at the old lady that caused it all (not the third party). Made out fair...

oh man I am so sorry to see that happen but you are ok and that is the inportant thing Lisen when my rod is street ready and if I drive it on the street my biggest fear is beind rearended decause all the rear is is gas and fiberglass tell your baby I said gotwell

Man, that makes me CRINGE! OUCH! I am REALLY sorry to see that. I hope that all can be fixed to as near pre- wreck as possible. I know your pain, I put mine on it's side. Was not a fun winter. I'm glad you're okay. You seem to be taking it better than I would.

Oh man randy, am sorry to see and here this news! That hurts! I remember when my 40 was hit, nowhere as badly a that tho. When my 32 was rear ended my insurence company paid up no questions asked. but it wasn't specialty insurance cause I used it as a daily driver and drove it up and down the east coast plus. I hope your insurance company is a good about it as mine was.

Ouch! It's one thing to get your daily driver nailed....but your hot rod? Not near as bad, but our first rod was nailed at a red light back in the mid 90's....numbskull no driving Evil Knevil wannabe Jeep driving idiot thought red meant go. He got two ears full and almost got wrapped around the nearest telephone pole, himself.

As others have said, Be glad your still with us and un-hurt...the car can always be beaten back into shape. Hope the insurance works out and they stick it to the fool.

Ya Know Randy, every since you posted the pics of your 40, I have had this very uneasy feeling hangin over me. Its the reality that this could happen to anyone of us anytime we leave the driveway. Makes me want to put both palms on both knees and hearl. I feel your pain Brother. Good Luck on the fix.
