Alan has contributed big to SRS so I don't have a problem with his listing. In fact I would prefer to see vintage tin for sale and not be considered SPAM. Maybe SRS or the membership could permit one thread per month for explanations with photos, if available. Everyone that wanted to see or buy could all visit and build on the one common thread.

Sorry, I was adding to "look what I started" thread, and my note got cut off and restarted.
P.S. Last year I sold an original paint 1930 Model A 5 window coupe that was dry stored since 1960 and recently I sold an original paint 1970 GTO Judge. I did not post these cars on a thread and as a result SRS members never knew of these vechicles, on the block. I chose not to put in the "FOR SALE" section. One common thread/month would be reasonable in my opinion.

How long before this became a For Sale By Owner site? There is a place to sell here already. How bout House rule #4. Again, I don't have a problem with someone who has spent time here and a car we know about. It's the " my name is ---- and my car is foe sale, or here I am again with another car for sale. Another site I go to had a guy say I'm not a business, I just like to buy and sell parts, so what's that?

Good point, Larry. We try to use common sense on things like this. If someone has been a contributing member for years and posts a message about needing to sell something, we aren't going to jump all over them. The "no spam" rule was put in place so that people wouldn't post obvious advertisements and links to other companies. There are no rules about not posting items for sale here, but hopefully most people see it as common courtesy not to do so when we have a separate section for those sorts of things. But again, we realize that there are special circumstances where posting things like that are not at all viewed as disrespectful.
As for having a common thread for sale items, we'll keep that in mind for the redesign (and yes, it is underway). I guess I'll let the cat out of the bag and let ya'll know that one of our primary goals for the new site is to streamline and trim out the non-essential sections of the site. We are spread very thin right now and we need to concentrate on the parts of the site that are essential to our business. We will certainly be keeping the Roundtable and the Studio section, but Swap Stuff will be retired. We know that there are many other sites that offer much better services for buying and selling car stuff. Maybe we can add a feature or section to the updated Roundtable where people can post items for sale. That way people would have the ability to post replies to the listing the same way you do here now on the RT.
