Epoxy????

I am about to restore a steering wheel, and I'm following instructions in a magazine. The only thing that I can't figure out is what type of epoxy to use. It mentions that they used a SPECIAL MIXED epoxy but doesn't list any names. I want to do this right so I want to know if anyone has any clue as to what type of epoxy to use on a steering wheel.
Thanks in advance..

Shane

Eastwood sells a steering wheel repair kit. I don't know what type of epoxy to tell you to use because there are many types.

I have abs of steel. For the protection of others, they are covered with padding.

My buddy that restores wheels for his cars uses the Eastwood product for fixing the cracks in his old wheels too like Lynn mentioned.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the info. I found out what type the epoxy is at the Eastwood site. It's called PC-7. So I just ordered some.

Thanks again..

I have bought PC-7 in a local hardware store in the past but I can't remember which one now. It should be locally available just about everywhere I would think.

I used DEVCON EPOXY on and Imp A steering wheel seemed to work really well. Filed all the cracks to a V drilled the end of any cracks and then slowly blobbed in all the glue poking it with a needle the whole time to ensure all the bubbles were removed, and old trick you can use as well to get rid of the bubbles is to keep it warm (sun works best). Sanded real clean and I was intending to coat it with two pack. Looks great IMHO.

Used PC7 to patch holes in top of V W engine cases when they swallowed ex valve and punched up thru the case .Never had a failure with it and saved many a case that way .Great stuff ! Wonder if it would hold my dentures in ??
