I am considering the ram jet 350 over the zz4, and would like to know your thoughts. I plan to drive this truck a lot in the summers, and stretability wise I hear the ram jet is the better option, even for the added cost. Please let me know your experiences

I considered a ramjet 350 for my street rod when I was determining engines, but being the power-holic/shiny stuff addict that I am, I decided to build a 383. I liked the ramjet as a mild 350 and was told by several people it has a slightly noticeable idle lope, is dependable, and has excellent throttle response. If that is what you are looking for, it might be a good choice for you.

I have abs of steel. For the protection of others, they are covered with padding.

Chevy vs Mopar...just my .02 worth but the Chevy motor will have more "speed stuff" available at a cheaper price.

Yeah, these manufacturers using the same sizes does get confusing. I had a 58 Merc that had a 383 in it, and no one believed me, was supposed to have 312 hp. You can't go by sizes anymore, like you used to do with 327's, 289's, or 273's. Ya need a program to know who's who. LOL.

I'd go with the Ram Jet..... Everybody I know that runs one has nothing but praise for it.
Say....speaking of 383...If ya got the extra coin, snag one! I drove a friend of mines '65 Nova powered by a 383 Stroker thats a little on the wild side (manual valve body, aluminum heads, roller rockers, hefty Comp cam, headers,TH350, 3:73 10 Bolt Posi..the whole deal), two weeks ago and I was impressed with it. She was on a rail all the way down the highway... Almost convinced me to snatch a similar 383 or bigger and convert my daily driver to RWD and stuff it in. LOL
