rear axle mount removal

When i put the new leaf springs under my '46 chevy sedan i was not totally happy with the angle in which the car sat. It was 2-3 inches higher in the rear. I am wanting to lower the rear about 1 1/2 inches. So I purchased the lowering kit from Chasis Engineering. So the question is: What is the easiest way to remove the axle mounts from the new leaf springs without damaging the springs or the mounts. (The whole rear end kit is from Chasis Engineering). I didn't know if anyone knew of a good way to pull them off or any other means for a decent removal. I almost bored out the mountingh hole before I put them on originally now I really wished I would have!!!!! OOOPS! Oh well any suggestions??
