Santa Claus will be cruising in a hot rod during a toy drive at the final Twilight Cruise Night of the year at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, Wed., Dec. 3. Those attending are asked to bring toys for needy children throughout the Pomona Valley.
"This year, because of the wild fires, there's a special need for gifts for young teenagers, including CD players, hair dryers and sports equipment," said Sam Jackson, executive director of the Parks Museum. "Those who can donate cash will find that their money goes a long way. Cal-Rods Car Club, which has already donated $500 to the cause, purchases gifts for the children at wholesale rates."
Jackson said he has already started to place gifts around the Wally statue in the Museum's lobby. I hope you will join Wally Parks, hundreds of street rodders and me in supporting this great cause."
The event, which runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is hosted by the Cal Rods club, attracts nearly 1,000 people and includes raffles and a huge 50/50 drawing. Admission to Cruise Night is free, and those who bring a gift receive free entrance to the Parks Museum. If not, attendees get $2 off regular price to visit the Museum. Driver who display cars receive one complimentary museum pass. Food and beverages are available for purchase. For more information, call (909) 622-2133.
