There beneath the cloak of winters grip-the slash cut pipes-partly hidden from the human eye-it lurks-not to be forgotten like a greek god-it speaks loud of days gone by and days yet to come-as it has for forty six years-the long, low, and mighty form still reach out for all to see-like an unread novel written in steel--LONG LIVE THE CLASSIC WORKS OF HARLEY EARL !

There behind the clout and clamor-the word stood out like a real jammer- seems to linger like a ghost-that name Harley- as like the gleem of a shiny pearl-it looks the best when hooked with Earl-the mind runs wild in 100 year old traditions-as from associations---Davidsons

I know the Harley of which you speak is not the one from which the oil does leak.
It's the one that, like our favorite squirrel, has a name that's famous...that name is Earl.
Even tho his soul is now in Heaven, his heart beats on in your fifty seven.
Now, Hammer, my friend, this too must end,
Tho I didn't know it, you're quite the poet.

.
.
.
...But the Harley in the corner with the thunderous thump, is patiently waiting for my big fat rump.
.
.
.
.....my brain hurts....

With beyond a doubt, a distance to shout,
to be heard over the thundering roar.
I sit here on my fanny, minus the Nanny,
playing with my Franklin Mint Harley on the floor.
It's all in my head! as the saying goes,
But what else can ya do when Winter snows.
The car is apart and cash flow is low,
But Hot Wheels also work when the cold Northwind blows.

Fred, George, and all. Yes, I'm in the winters stall.Like the old bear I awoke from a long winters nap.Fred, I figured you knew all about the big mister "Earl" from Art and Colour as it was first called.Think I'll get my toys out on the floor for a while too.I never thought what I wrote was thread worthy.

Good going guys. We have poets here and we don't even knowit! lol
Funny you should mention playing with Hot Wheels. Today my nephew is here, home sick from school with an ear ache. We have been playing with my old Hot Wheels track on the living room floor all morning. Spending time with him like this brings back lots of old memories and playing with my Hot Wheels are some of the best.
