I would LOVE to see you and your lovely wife again. We sure would have some fun there together. Unfortunantly, I have to get my window trim out of chrome hawk before I spend any money on "fun" stuff. I'll be thinking about you tonight as I watch the auction live. Try to get your mug on TV and wave to me. I'll wave back. Have a good time bud. :)))

Oh ho ho yea it does, much better, it's the weekend.

Left work early
Took a date to the Auto Show
Went out for an Italian Dinner
Stayed In for a Movie
Shut off the phone
Warm woman
Warm sofa
Warm blanket
Warm bed
Sleeping in

That's a cold midwest Friday night!

Only thing better would have been the smell of some warm homemade cookies being baked this morning ;)

Gus, looks like you woke up in the wrong house, if you were looking for warm cookies in the morning. :) Glad to hear you also had a "nice" nite.

Nomobux, yep, both phone and remote were on the end table, just forgot to mention them in the list. Didn't really need either cuz I had no plans on changing the channel and I certainly didn't want to talk to anyone on the phone. Unless, of course, it was someone willing to stopped by with a half gallon of Moose Tracks or some other yummy flavor of ice cream! LOL

A couple of guys from here had a 56 Chevy ragtop, yellow and charcoal kinda colors, go thru last night...I understand it was like #154 or #454...they went to commercial after 52or 53 and were bringing 56 up when coverage resumed so nobody knew what it sold for after watching for hours to see it!I heard today it brought something like $62,650.After the comission and entry....that won't even be break even for him I don't think. Our cable provider doesn't carry it so I'm out of luck :>((

Reserve was $175,000 on the Boydster. I don't think he owns it though.

Patrick, I believe I saw you in the background as they were interviewing John Force. It would have been approx 5:15pm AZ time. You had on a black t-shirt. Also, in the same shot, I recongized the guy in the GG "you gotta drive'um" cap but I can't place his name. Saw Bill Whetstone, a hot rodder from this area while he was looking at a 61 Impala SS ragtop. He did buy a Caddy while there.

I watched every minute of it ALL! Makes for great entertainment when working in the garage (finishing the 60 Camaro's trunk) with little to do outside even tho I got the 57 out yesterday just to see how it runs in 15 degree weather! It's been around 10ish here in the mornings? Would you guys up north...Ed and Grant shut the door please. Brrrrrrrrrr.

What I was amazed by was the information "bloopers" of Bob Varsha and Brock Yates of all people. You would think that they would have most of this down....especially Brock. They made glaring errors in car make and accoutrements and even had to be corrected by emails. But, I enjoyed the show, pretty neat stuff.

I kept track of some of the selling prices and it looks like the prices are up this year about 20 to 30% for muscle cars....especially convertibles, about 15% for rods (hard to compare), 20% for other domestics, and about 10% for foreign cars. It tells me that investing in quality muscle cars may be a great strategy if you can afford to hold on to them for a few years.

Steve, We pad locked the door shut...guess it still leaks though! lol

Ya know, I was really surprised that the black resto '34 brought 146K and the Boydster had trouble getting to 100K...I too thought for sure it would pass 200 or so. Along with my new top fav. of the weekend, the black deuce 3 window with something like 800 HP...Said it was a Nascar engine?

Sure wish the auction was weekly...I look forward to it every year.

I'm happy to hear it is profitable for you to be there. I'm going to try my hardest to be out there next year at this time for a couple of weeks.

I fell asleep watching it so late and missed some of the neat cars still out in the lot. Never saw an auction like that before and it was awesome to say the least!!
Could't hardly believe that someone said that Mr October had about 150 cars in his collection and he had a hard time with his Ferraries(sp)!! Seems like his reserves were wishful thinking....
I got a kick out of some "ol boy", that was old, fat, and wearing bib overalls and a Cat hat and a weed in his mouth bidding 75k on a hemi powered something!! Reselling must be good somewhere.......
My fave was the '47 Delahey but the steering was on the wrong side.....The Cord 810 really turned me on since it has always been at the top of my (choke, cough) wish list..
All in all, I'd watch it all over again if I could!
Just reread my post and thought I might have offended someone with the bib overalls description!! Sorry
(but it was fun..he he he)

Hey........I am a Hoosier and we wear "bibs" all the time.

I am offended.....what are you insinuating? YOu must be an "overalls-ist"! However, I can get over this if you send money to compensate my hurt feelings and inability to work or function to me immediately. Oh...and don't forget to apologise to all of us Hoosiers (and other "bibbys"), but we will never forgive you...especially if you are conservative. YOu just can't put us "bibbys" in with all those upper crust muckety mucks without hurt'in our feel'ins! Shame on youse!
