Watch the program tonight with a few friends at the house. Thursday is pizza nite and Survivor. We watched Streetrodder as we ate. Not that you've asked my opinion but your getting it anyway. :D

Scott's voice was alittle distracting. Very hard to concentrate on what he was saying. Wasn't there something you could have done to the sound track to make his voice alittle more appealing?

Also, the segment on that rod shop was alittle long. Maybe cut something like that in half and add coverage from a national streetrod show instead.

Just my 2 cents and the 2 cents of the other car folks that were at the house. :)))

I missed the show tonight.....in fact I haven't seen one show all season. They are only running them once as far as I know and never remember to set the VCR.
But, I have a friend that that has the same voice as Scott. My friends problem, and probly Scott's, stems from the fact that only one side of their vocal cords work. I belive that Scott has had this since he was young, my friend's affiction happened with a very bad cold a couple years ago. There is surgery to correct it but there is no guarantee that it will work. My buddy will never sing in a choir, but he can sure build steet rods. [His orange and white pearl 46 Chevy pick-up won the PPG Best Use of Color a couple years ago at the Nats]

just my 2 cents

We kind of figured it was something like that, or he had a really rough nite, the nite before! :) His voice just doesn't "match" his size.

Just seemed to me they gave that shop a whole lot of airtime. The segment went on just alittle to long for my taste and you know thats coming from a hot rod chick, not someones wife sitting there watching TV with hubby! LOL I would have prefered to see alittle more "color", show me some of the rods the shop has actually built, build process shots, finished shots, etc.

I remember seeing you buddy's truck. Saw it for the first time at BTTF's. Also laid eyes on it in L'ville. He was running around with an orange 37 Chevy that was done by a very young, good-looking guy by the name of Trevor or Travis or something like that. Both the truck and coupe looked like they were painted by the same very talented person. I spent quite a bit of time checking them both out. I was very impressed with the quality of the craftsmanship. His PPG award was well deserved.

I've got photos here of both rides. I'll post them tomorrow, I'm hitting the hay now. :))

Last week I think they were in Lou'vul for the Nats still...isn't there a break inbetween the Nats and the next regional NSRA show? Might have done that to fill in then pick it up next week at the next NSRA show.

Sure wish they'd keep it year round....the ISCA World of Wheels shows are just as top notch. They do the Autorama, why not keep it up with the rest of 'em.

My brother-in-law saw the show that aired the 19th. On it, toward the last 5 or 6 minutes of the show there was a shot of a stripped 54 Chevy Sedan Delivery, chopped, with a laid back front glass and rear window, too. Do you have any information on this car that you could pass along to me. Owners name? Pictures? Website where we could look at pictures of this car? My brother-in-law has a similar car and is intertested in seeing pictures so that he can maybe build his similar to this one. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

to ghost thanks for watching . cant add much to what you saw -- i do know that the top was chopped i think 6 inches the front post were laid back but i dont remember how much it looked like 3 to 4 inches i do know the body was streched i think 8 inches front to back tubbed super slam frontend and the usual list of custom mods you can call jeff or justin at Scotts hot rods and customs in ventura calf. just for something to think about i did a 51 by pie cutting 8 inches out front to back you have to rework the fenders and the front end also cut the top next time i will angle cut the top using the top from a late model gm make. juat some to think about also 17s and 20s x8 x10 ggod luck.

SCOTT was his father. Justin is a great guy and is doing really well and making the sport safer for all of us with his products lets not forget we all started in the sport by rubbing our heads ; counting our money and seeing something that no one else could quite get till it was done. then hearing ( i was going to do that etc.. any way today is my birthday 43 and hauling ass. happy holidays and long stretches of highway.

Ok ducer, When you build a car just to "compete" in shows and never drive it but in and out of the trailer..... It`s furniture! Expensive furniture. Streetrodding and hot rodding is the real world where they are driven and enjoyed. There is a great comeradery between rodders, Not compitition...Other than the ocasional stop lite challange. It is entertaining to watch these ego maniacs with more dollars than sence compete with these mega dollar sculptures though. Geeze...for bragging rights no less....lol. I admit, It`s pretty good eye candy, But candy rots your teeth.

Ed.. your letter brought back a memory I had totally forgotten about. A few years ago we were setting up our club display at the Cleveland Autorama and a group was unloading a 34 Ford from an enclosed trailer. The car was entirely bagged. The hood was bagged seperately and even the tires were in heavy poplyn bags! They didn't look like there were having any fun, just working at a job. I, and the others in our club are in it for fun. Ten of the eleven cars we put in the show were driven there and back, in the snow, at near 0 temperatures. The only one trailered was a dragster. We were only there for the fun of having a club display and were not being judged.

Mike, You are right, They were not having any fun. Just competing. I have seen people like this.....Very self important. On the other hand you guys probably had a blast. It urks me sometimes that these fools are trying to take the fun out of our hobby, The "I`m better than you" crowd bore the hell out of real rodders. That TV show that this thread is about, Glorifies that small portion of the hobby. When they show the home builts and real rods, They have my total attention.

Most of what you say I agree with. But having a show like this on TV is a start, no matter what "type" of rod is being featured.

What we all need to do is e-mail suggestions to who ever owns the program with ideas of what YOU, as the viewer, want to see. What type of features, what type of cars, what type of tech, what would get you hooked on the program so you would look forward to watching it every week and talk about it with your friends?

We had this same problem with Hot Rod TV and the sucky coverage that they gave the Power Tour THIS YEAR. Coverage was more like a sponsor lovefest! Not the great cruzn coverage as seen in the past years. I know, I know, sponsors pay the bills, but there has to be a happy medium in there somewehre. Hopefully enough of us Power Tour club memebers wrote in with our contructive criticisms on how they were going to lose the possiblity of new tourers if they continued that type of coverage.

Rick, this is a quote from Jim Aust, editor of the GGG regarding your question.

".... it was going to be given such a bad time slot in the middle of the night that we decided to hold plans until it can be seen properly. We are looking at a well-known celebrity host and putting together a new pilot to shop around. You can pass that on for me. "
