I've been getting the itch to drive in another demo derby for a while now (old habits are hard to break!!) Anyhow if anybody in the AL,GA,NC or SC area knows of something sitting behind a barn, etc that may still run and wont cost over $300 let me know. :} Thanks guys and girls!!

Just my luck....
I gave away a 77 Monte Carlo to a fellow I work with. 305, 350 running.
My wife and I had bought it in 1981 and gave it to her mother. The Charleston saltly air had eaten on it fairly good. Her mother passed a few years back and it was in the way and an eyesore. We sold the house where I had it sitting so it had to go. It was too ugly to come to my house. My neighbors think I run a used car lot anyway.
I would have given it to you just as easy. It had 88,000 miles on it.

I did a demo derby a few years back. Bought a 1984 Caprice Classic 4 door 350/350 and did a load of prep work to it. Only wiring it had was ignition kill switch and a starter button. Gutted the interior and did every bit of re-enforcement allowed by the rules. Won my heat race and got down to the last 3 cars running, without getting hit to hard. THEN,this guy hit me,in the passengers side,so hard, he actually bent the car into a "U" shape. Rung MY bell!!
I was so sore the next day,I couldn't move:(( 1st and LAST demo for me:))

how about a 58 yeoman? This is no lie. Before I started working on it, it sat out behind the house. My ex (we were married then) told me that some young guys stopped and wanted to buy it to put it in a demo derby.

The group that run's the demo's at our county fair, outlawed the Chrysler Imperials a few years back. The better "builders" were using them in 3 or 4 derby's. They couldn't kill them! The car of choice now is the Caprice wagons. If built right and taken care of when they are "raced" they can get 3 or 4 Derby's out of them as well. The big thing now is the mini demo-derby,where they use the compact cars. No Thanks! After getting hit in my car,I'll take as much iron around me as I can get!

Or who should I have "axed" about this??? This urban language is getting out of hand...YO Wassup!! (JUST KIDDING) %^)

Bill, what you need is one of the Impala's from the Spanish community with the hydraulic suspension, that way you could raise it up and really cause havoc. LOL.

HMMMM....a "jumpy" Yeoman?!? I don't think the rules would allow that much suspension change. I do like it though!!!
