What size wheels on a mustang II?

I took the frame for my 35 chevy off of the jig today and bolted on some junkyard 15" wheels and tires. The inside of the rim rubs on the upper control arm ball joint center bolt. From the factory I don't think the mustang II's had very big wheels....Why does mine rub? Do you have to run 16" or bigger wheels with a mustang II front suspension?

I've got 14s on one of my cars (stock upper and lower arms) and 15x8s on the Packard with tubular arms. No problem on either except I had to limit the travel of the rack slightly because the wide tires would rub the shock mounts at full turn.

Your question sent me out to look as I'm running 13" x 5.5" but the wheel doesn't come in far enough to touch the upper A arm. You can reverse the bolt or if more is needed chamfer a spot with a drill and run a flat head bolt.

I'm running 15" x7" on my front don't remember the offset. If these are the wheels you need to run then try a spacer to move the wheel out.

Thanks!!

I think the key point is the back spacing. I'll check what back spacing I have on the wheels/tires that I have and that will help me determine what back spacing I can run.
