For anyone interested, my boss, Dave Tucci (Tucci Engineering) will be on Monster Garage June 2. But as a teaser for the new season that starts with this show, they are taking the vehicle they built to New York City monday to put it on Letterman that nite. It's a hotrod, it does burnouts, and that should be 'nuff said to interest the gearheads here. Check it out!

What "type" of "hot rod"? Traditional, streetrod, muscle car, kustom, import??? Gotta determine whether it will be worth it for me to stay up that late! lol Is your Dave going to be on Letterman with the "hot rod"? Is Jessie coming out with it?? Inquiring minds wanna know. :)

I can't explain it to you. You either get it or you don't.

What you want to bet Letterman makes comments about things like this destroying the ozone?
I'll watch 'cause a local boy is on.
But I'll bet Letterman reminds me why I never watch his show!

Well how do ya like that, one more reason I don't need to visit the Big Apple... They shut'em down. Dave called me on his way back up home and said that they did a couple burnouts and the cops said, he he he, ya right, shut it off. I don't know if you would consider it a "traditional" rod. It is/was a vintage 60's slingshot dragster, but once you put the hotdogs out back I think traditional goes right out the window!
Just so happens that the new episode debuts on our next cruise nite, the BIG screen is rented and will be set up in the shop, now watch it rain, lol.

I waited...and waited...all they were showing was the same 2 second clip of Jesse sitting at idle....and I waited some more. Come 12:00 the only thing I watched was the back of my eyelids till just about 20 min. ago. Looked cool from what I saw though.
Get one of them $19 Foot Long Hot Dogs? Did they serve ya the finest dining in town with Tobacco? Inquiring minds need to know.....a few weeks ago a NYC restaurant started cooking with tobacco? Now I hear the same joints got a $19 foot long hot dog....I'll stick with my way of living, thanks! LOL

In the filmed "burn out" that they did show, Jesse ran the left front wheel up over the curb onto the sidewalk right next to a pedestrian!
Either Jesse didn't tell them what to expect or CBS didn't block off the street well enough to pull a stunt like that.
The cops and Mayor were right for shutting it down.
After all, we wouldn't want to see Jesse and Dave in court on 2nd degree murder charges like those two guys in San Diego were...
What cracks me up is Jesse pretends, or at least lets people think he comes up with all the ideas....

I'll tell ya what happened according to Dave. He said they filmed a bunch of stuff from about 10:00AM till 6:30ish. Every burnout was great, they gave lots of people hot dogs out of the cart...er...car, and every run they did was straight as an arrow...EXCEPT the one that they showed the in car camera shot of. He said Jesse did the burnout then backed up for a launch...then one of the guys standing around (someones buddy that didn't belong there) through more water down under the left tire! Just in time for Jesse to launch! So thats where the curb shot came from, they basically showed absolutley nothing that they were there for. Someone up above in this post said something about them saying something about destoying the ozone, maybe this was they're way of making the whole thing look dumb. I don't know, but I'll tell ya this. They ran the car at the drag strip in Vegas last month, it went fast, I won't tell ya how fast, ya gotta watch it (can't spoil everything) and some wheels came off the ground..."some" wheels. Letterman was very disapointing, even the whole 2 min interview Letterman did with him made Jesse look like an idiot, they rushed him through it like they didn't have time for him. I never realy watched the Late show before this, and now I see why, wasn't missing anything. Just wait till June 2nd for the show!

I don't watch the talk shows just for the reason of 'hurrying through' the guests. And now, even the news is doing it. Have to get the almighty dollar in their pockets.

You could be onto something with the water under the left tire Mark.
Letterman is right up there with Woppi Goldburg, Sean Penn, Martin Sheen and that chubby chick in the Dixie Chicks!
Was Jr on the show at all? Saw him in the previews for Monster Garage.

No, he wasn't on there, we were lucky they even showed Jesse, lol. Dave said all that crap about the Hells Angels was bull, they weren't there, he said the one biker they actually showed eating a hot dog was one of the guys from the show, lol. Yea, I heard from someone today that they are showing commercials for the new season now and that Dave was in there, cool. Even if I didn't work for him, it's just cool when it's someone from your home town that gets into something like that I guess. The times change to an hour later for the new season, guess I'll have to start staying up past my bedtime, LOL.

If I'm not at the cruise night watching it, I'll have to tape it.
Funny, when I was 19 I could stay up for 50 hours straight! hehe
Are there any plans to do something for Phil Durante?
Thinking we should get something going to lift his spirits.
You would think his Chia Pet hair would have protected him from falling objects!
