I've been talked into making a pass sometime this summer down the 1320 with my ride just to get a time in stock condition, And as I go, run it some more and see how it's improved with the performance and suspension upgrades. But while I'm stock for the most part other than some interior and exterior work, I had some concerns about draggin it seeing how it's my daily cruiser...Right now as is, if I leave a redlight in town a little on the hard side (nowhere near what I'd do at the strip to try and cut a half decent light) and chirp the front hides (front wheel drive), I get a little wierded out over the way the thing launches...Being it's FWD with struts and half shafts I'm affraid the bottoms gonna rip out of it, it shakes rattles and hops so bad (baaaaaaad wheel hop). Any Mopar upgrades I should look for? I'm not out to turn this thing into a 300 mph FC van...eventually it's gotta hook up so I can boogie, and run fair.
Hit me with your best shot my Mopar Maniacs...

Grant,,,,,I think Chryslers have different length front half shafts that could be causing the shake, rattle, and roll. The HiPo racers have both shafts the same length. If you get a time slip on that bus, let me know what it is cuz I got 17.8 outa my extended Silverado 2WD with a 305. My I'll race ya,,,,,Dave

C'mon Mr. Mopar... Dodge Stratus drive train/engine stuff fits on mine (3.3 V6)..any performance stuff out there? All I've found was a Iceman cold air intake and K&N filters. I'd die if I got my hands on a header for it. Chip possibly..
Dave, I think the shake rattle and roll is all my doings...I'm about the only one thats got the kahunas to stand on a party wagon like mine at redlights, I guess. Soccer moms never bust it loose over 50 and even thats pushing it. If I leave normal (maybe a mild chirp of the tires on occaision) it'll wind up and run 80-85 all day...

OK,OK,OK...........Forget the equal length half shafts. You don't need them. Get yourself an oversize throttle body,a cold air intake and a free flowing muffler.35 psi minimum in your FRONT tires. DO NOT DO A WATER BURN OUT! Drive AROUND the water box........just do a short, dry hop. Stage as DEEP as you can. Try leaving on the last YELLOW.Might even have to try TWO yellows and a shallow stage. If you can get away with it,ANGLE stage just wee bit.Leave the trans selector in the FIRST gear position and LET THE COMPUTER DO THE SHIFTING(you do have the O/D trans, right?) Repeat after me......Reaction time and consistancy......
Oh ya.......NEVER second guess your dial in time.Dial it what it IS running, not what you THINK it will run. If you are AHEAD at the stripe, lift. If not,STAY IN THE THROTTLE and try to push the other guy into "breaking out".........Now.......go have fun and see if you can "trailer" a few "racers"

Grant, you won't find much for speed equitment for your V6, believe me, I've looked. Bout the only thing you will find are the parts you already mentioned. Can you believe that? Not even a chip from the people that developed the Hemi, torsion bar suspenion and the Prowler which runs a V6! Talk about short sightedness.

I believe it! Prime example....my euro style tail lenses....I busted my tail for a year looking for 'em...called every parts house in the world asking for 2000 Dodge Caravan Euros...."Dont make 'em"....went on like this for months. Got almost to the point where I swore I was gonna have to get 'em custom made. Long story short, out of curiousity, the last place I call I ask if by chance the Durangos even close....even if it meant reworking the tail light area. Would you believe it's the same tail lense!! Had I known this, and asked for Durango Euro Lenses I would have had them since day 1. Oh well, I was still the first van to sport 'em...2 weeks later this other clown that's following my lead (same year/make van) gets 'em....so I get it custom painted..a month later his has new vinyl graphics...Can we say budget? lol...not with me. If I'm gonna get it it's not gonna be cheap and cheesy if I can help it.

Hate to pi$$ in your Cheerio's Grant, but they never put the 3.3 in a Stratus. That got the 2.0, 2.4 and a 2.5.The 2.5 is based on the old 3.0 Mitsubishi engine from the older Caravan/Voyagers. I will try to find the number of the company that bore's out the throttle bodies. Exhaust can be a local installer. Just lose the muffler is the cheapest way.If you feel money'd up,have them replace the entire system with a mandrel bent,3 inch setup...........

Hey, I'll stand by that hot 3.3. I had a 90 with that engine, WOW!!, was it hot. Finally blew the trans at 227k, and had to sell the hot engine on ebay for $100 (starter included). Course, mine wasn't turbo'd. Now, this 3.0 I've got in the 89 isn't as hot, but it's going to fly after I detail it this weekend. I'm going to paint my E-brake cables bright red...that should add about 50 hp. Was going to work on the Poncho this weekend, but it can wait. LOL.

John,
He's wasting our time because if you go to the bottom of the page, it says that it's free!! I wonder if they would let me put on a series about how I use my compost tumbler. I could show how it turns with the handle, and later on, I could show how I repair the rust spots, and repaint it green. LOL.

Phil,
I would like to see more DIY pages like Project '33. Scooter is awesome! I would post some of my engineering but I don't have the time. I did get the body on the '34 and I re-engineered the door posts and welded them in today. I have too much time absorbed by my family and friends needing automotive help. My son-in-law backed into his own car today! So I spent two hours pulling out the hood of his little Honda, instead of working on the rod after work.

Ok so I think (not 100% sure) mines upwards of high 100's low to mid 200 HP range, stock. Gimme a cold air intake, Header, Throttle body, possibly some Giggle Gas, a free flowing exhaust and I'm well over 500 HP! RIGHT ON! LOL...
I think this cats a little on the delerious side...

The stickers alone are worth 400hp, Add the bark bench rear spoiler for the additional 200hp. Add that with the 200 you have and Wa La! 800HP. 8 second 200 mph grocery hauler. Then you wake up and realize it`s all a dream...lol
