Yep, that's a Tbird with the 49 kit. I saw it in a magazine with the 'add-ons' a different color so you could see how it fit. Too late for the t shirt, tho.

Its a late model cougar that has the fiberglass nose kit. This is like the one that is being transformed in Kit Car Magazine. I haven't found the name of the company

Dont know why somebody made this a kit, I met the guy out of Indiana I think it was, who came up with the original idea back in '93 or 4. Took a '87 'Bird and a '49 Shoebox and mated 'em by hand. He better not see this "Kit"...might cause a fuss.

Tis a '50 Thunderford! We have a few of them out here on the Wet Coast. Looks best with that "Camelion style" paint that changes colors as viewed from different angles! But definately not up my ally!!

Big Al, The guy from Easy Rods is from my town. I saw one of these "special" cars last summer. Butt ugly up close. At least the one I saw was.

There was one of these at the Syracuse Nationals last year. I think it may have been a vender, but I'm not sure. Anyhow, it made heads turn, though I don't think for the right reason. I don't think I remember anyone saying wow that's cool, mostly people asking what it was and if you would actually drive it around town. I think it's just to wanna-be. I think it's like the people that by the chrome looking wheel well trim and line every body panel with it, this is just taking that mentality to the EXTREME. Maybe if they did a truck front end you would see them as shop trucks, but that would be about it. Could you see the Auto Zone S-10s running around town with like a 55 chevy pick-up nose on them? That would be about right for Auto-Zone too, then the parts counter people could tell you how to work on street rods too cause this would give them experiance, lol.

Please, keep restoring those cars to stock... So that someday my grandkids will still know what it feels like to cut one up and build a hot rod!

I can picture how it came about....There were these two guys sitting in the park one day (one was the guy who said "You know, I think we can take a chickens comb and make some kind of medicine out of it."), and one says " You know, I think we can make an 80's TBird look just like a 49 Ford, but, just a little out of proportion." The other guy says..." Naw, you're nuts. I've got this great vision in my mind, and people will flock to buy it. I think I'm gonna call it 'Aztek.'

Mine was creative as all hell! Chicken (Bird) in a Box (Shoebox)....Shirt pleeeeeeeeeeease! lol..And the Winner IS......*drumroll*............................
Anyway, the things still out of porportions...I aint never seen a '49-51 Ford trunk/rear fender area THAT square. Even when the guy who came up with the idea cut up a later 90's 'Bird such as that style and a 'Box he kept the lines of both cars flowing through the whole deal. To each his own, I guess.

Dang it is pretty ugly but i would rather it have a 49-50 front than the stock tbird stuff. I attached a pic of a 53custom that has had similair treatment, but this time a Mitsubishi Magna roof added. Not too sure what else, but sort of ok but roof was out of proportion. I have heard a guy on another forum call it, "Fagna"
