Turn signal flasher

My 32 roadster has a "Haywire" 7 fuse panel with an electronic flasher for the turn signals. It flashes extremely fast and I have tried everything to slow it down. The front turn signals lights are after market with short bulbs in them. They are the 1157 style but shorter. I purchased a 50 ohm 10 watt wire wound resistor at the manufacturers suggestion and installed it in line but that did not slow the flasher down. The only way the flasher will slow down is to put another bulb in the circuit BUT I have nowhere to put the socket that looks right.Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with my tail lights....Heavy duty signal can should slow it down.

Haywire put a flasher in their fuse box that looks like a 5 prong relay and I was told it's an "electronic flasher" and that Ford an Chrysler have gone the same route. A regular flasher does not work in this fuse box and a replacement flasher according to Haywire will cost me about 35 bucks.

GM uses the same type of electronic flasher.
You might want to try one built for a medium duty gm truck like a topkick.
They run the heavy duty lights on them.
Those should slow them down.

If adding a bulb will slow it down, why not just add a bulb and socket up under the dash or behind the back seat where no one will ever see it?

My 2 cents.

On my '38 Dodge truck, when I wired the fuel injection harness up,I used some LED's for my dash indicators.Mopar, from the factory, used the little 94 series bulbs. What they neglected to tell you was,the circuits that turn on the check engine light and the trans O/D lamp, have a very slight voltage feed when they are off.Made the darn LED's glow about 1/4 bright when those circuits were "off". Soooooo, what I did was to hide a 94 series bulb and socket, wired in series, under the dash and painted them BLACK. Can't see'um and everything works like it should.
My point???? Hide a couple bulbs and sockets, wired into your turn signal circuit, under the dash where they won't hurt anything. He** of a lot cheaper than the resistor you wired in that didn't work !!!
