brake pedal return

Need a little help all. Just put new wheels on the 48. Used the new old tires(700 miles). Turned white walls in. Now I have a vibration. Wheels are Centerlines. Had no vibration with steel wheels prior to this. Had the wheels rebalanced, ran great on test drive. On the way home vibration came back. Seems to be in the rear. Tried different wheels and tires, had noticeable improvement but vibration seemed to come and go. This set up hadn't been on a car for about 3 years. Questions. People doing the balancing are very qualified showed my quite a bit of hop and sidewall wobble when spun up. They did balance on the machine. They recommended new tires. Said that maybe the radial turning in the opposite direction may threw it out of whack. Cheap brand of tires on car. If I need to upgrade the tires so be it. Was wondering if brake pedal not returning all the way up(under car mounted p/b) would have enough drag on the brakes to cause vibration. With the engine running I have to help it up a little bit. Motor off returns ok. Has return spring. I tried this on my last test drive and it seemed to help or maybe I was just hoping and it worked. sorry to be so long winded but it is getting close to doing lots of driving time. And I don't like to spend money unless I have to. Driveline is all new. Car now has a little ove 700 miles on it since new. Any help is greatly appreciated.

When you turn radials around sometime they will seperate and cause non-balancing problems etc.

Say what you mean and mean what you say. Be careful what you ask for, you may get it!

This probably will not help the vibration but I would put a stiffer spring on the brake pedal. It needs to return to its up position without help. I chased this brake pedal gremlin last year.

Is there anyway you can get a set of wheels and tires from a friend. Then try it out, If it goes away then you know it's your tires. If not then you know it's not, Then you can look into it further.

When you take your rear drums off. (if your useing rear drums) can your see any hot spots on the drums? Might even take your rear drums in and have them turned.
Disc's brakes look for hot spots on the rotor.( might even take them in and see if there true).
One cheap way to check to see if your brakes are draging is get some carbon paper. Place it inbetween the brakes and rotors. Then trun the rotor. then check and see if it leaves any marks.(disc's brakes only)

double check all your bolts and brackets on your rearend including your shocks. axle bolts, wheels studs, Make sure you have the right lug nuts for the wheels,

1) Do you feel the vibration when the brakes are engaged?
2) Do you feel the vibration under any speed?
3) Put the car on jack stands, take the rear wheels off, start the car and see if it vibrates with the wheels off.

When you find out what it is. tell us what you find.

Make sure your lug nuts are not bottoming out on the drum or disc flange. If they're too long, the wheel may be close to tight, but not tight. My two cents.

There's a world of difference between "good" and "good enough".

Have them re-balance the tires. If they are out of balance again, you might have a belt slipping.
