NHRA races

Did anyone catch the opening rounds yesterday when they were in the parking lot and when the fuel cars ran all the car alarms went off? A buddy of mine has a 33 Ford with a blown 454 and when we cruise the parking lots it sets off all the car alarms too. We just have to be closer to the cars than the fuelers.

Since I come from the Land of the Easily Amused, every now and then I will take the Willys into a parking structure and cruise around.

Driving away hearing beeps and honks... Priceless!

I too, set quite a few alarms off with my previous ride (48 Ford F-1 Panel) fired it up the first time minus exhaust mufflers (full open headers). Between shaking the neighbors windows and setting off alarms we caused all kind of trouble, even ran it down the street and back with no doors no glass and no front sheet metal..ran through the shopping center where dads girlfriend used to work (Super Fresh Groc. store) and had 'em all talking and wondering where our mind was..or where it was headed, driving around like that....this is where they appropriately named it "THE BEAST"..Gotta love it!!

The guy across the street asked me the other day why it's been quiet around here lately....didn't know we had sold the panel. Might have to find me the loudest most obnoxious exhaust for the ole van now......If only a 528 Hemi would show up at my doorstep I'd run headers and wake the dead. LOL

Scared 'em so bad when we cruised by the manager hooked us up with free junk for a month.....said they could hear us a mile away. LOL Some said there was a similarity with a F-16 as far as the noise decibles go.....But I think that was pushing it a tad over the edge.

We used to do indoor mall displays. Had a couple of race cars come in with open headers. Set off the jewelry stores alarms. Cops didn't appreciate it too much. Had a good sense of humor and did enjoy the cars though.
