Here is a picture of one of the motor mounts that I took off the 74 Nova subframe that's going into my Poncho. I don't know if the Nova had a 6 or an 8, but the parts store says they both use the same. Problem is, theirs don't match mine, and none of the ones that he had for any Chevy's came close. This one has a single bolt coming out of the bottom; the plate that is under it was bolted to the subframe (3 bolts). Any ideas?
I was going to use this style as it gives me an extra inch or so of height over the stock Caddy mounts.

What engine are you running, Joe? We had checked some of the Chevelles, but don't remember if we tried 67.

1965 Chevy Impala....had one of the originals break and the torque of the motor threw the car in gear and opened the throttle!!!Great fun, the new ones have a safety as part of the mount so they don't do that any more.

Is that safety the hook through the hole on the left side of the picture?

all most all your V8 chevy motor mount are the same. The only differance was where the holes where in the frame.

The 68 Chevy V8's were also notorious for braking motor mounts. I know a number of people that had 68's and everyone had proplems. Mine was minor buy comparison, the fan broke the shroud and cut the upper radiator hose in half. A friends thottle jammed open on the freeway during rush hour and had to kill the ignition to get stopped. GM put out a recall and added a cable type strap to keep the motor from lifting, but refused to reimburse for damages that resulted from the broken mounts.

Mike, GM must have gotten paranoid; I worked for a while in a Chevy garage in 73-74, and we were still installing the cables, plus a plastic cover over the steering column shaft to keep rocks from wedging between it and the frame.
Tom, it's fine with me when you're right. LOL.

Tom wins the cigar. The mount is 72 Nova w/cyl. Got two at a different parts store today that had the old books with pictures. Much quicker than looking up the part on the puter, going to the shelf and getting the box and looking inside. $21.30 and I'm on my way again. Thanks for the help, guys.
