We decided to keep the original frame and just repair it but we have yet to take off the body and we have just took the rear end out of an old nova and the suspension is still on it. Would it be worth trying to mount the nova rear suspension and end on or should we just repair the old shocks?

I'd put new shocks on. The travel of the shocks will be different.

You can buy a kit from chassisenginering to put the Nova rear in ! Cost around 450.00 but a good kit comes with everything you need! I used it to put the Nova in my 36!

The springs on my '38 are wider than the original also. I centered the spring over the frame and made new hangers of the proper width. Works fine.

I use leaf springs from the rear of late model long wheel base Dodge.... mini vans and get the spring hangers too. The are the same width spring as the Nova/Camaro. I use the original spring pads on the rear end and then adapt the hangers to the frame of the Chevy pickup frames I build. I imagine that you could do the same on your car.

So do what do you think would be the best then buying a mount, building your own mount and using the nova suspension or what?

You could use your old springs. if there bad you can have the re sprung. I don't know if the Nova spring are the same lenght. If there not you'll have to make new mounting hangers. You might have your old springs resprung and have them put some glides in between the spring.

The old springs that were on it are in horrible shape but I think that the nova length would be about the same but its is just mounting them on?
What would you guys recommend for front shocks something like a 1975 pinto or what? I heard that a 75 pinto would have the same front suspension that woudl probaly just bolt on and it would be indepentdant and the steering column and every thign would change over any suggestions/recommendations

I have just found out that it is a 34 master coupe and not a 35.
