Figured since we're ready for a new year of car shows, weekly cruises, rod runs and parades, I figured we could get a list going with Fun and Entertaining Activitys/Games we see/participate in at shows.

As for my favorite games/contests?

-Muffler Rap
-Spark Plug Race
-Fan Belt Toss
-Pudding Drop
-Jellybean Guessing Game
-Burnout Contests
-Flamethrower Contests
-Teeter Totter balancing
-Slow Drags
-Hydraulic Hop Off contests

As for some of the "off the wall" games..

-Reverse steer creeper races (turn it left it goes right)
Corn Race (walk through a maze, pick up a ear of corn, continue through the maze as your partner helps directing you from start to finish telling you which way to go (opposite the direction your going..so it can get funny when your partners looking at it backwards) At the finish, if you make it, you push the ear of corn through a second smaller hole in a sheet of 8' x 10' wide wood that your partners poking his/her head through)

-Ladder climb (two ropes with wood ladder rungs staked into the ground and tied into a wall or something else...you gotta climb and make it to the top without falling)
-Engine Build (self explanatory...but it MUST run for 1 minute) No cheating...Pro Engine Builders judge your moves.
-Tire Change (4 tires) off with the old bald ones on with the new..

As for Activitys (Driving or Non Driving events ect)

-Poker Runs/Walks (The more challenging yet scenic route the better)
-Parades (Limited to first 150 or so like NSRA does)
-Rod Jousting (blast down a strip with a passenger hanging out the window with a pool stick, while you give it all it's got your passenger must spear all 3 rings or as many as you can...fastest with the most rings speared wins)
-Toilet Paper pick up (drive through a course, pick up 6 different toilet paper rolls at different locations in the course, drop them in 6 different areas in the course opposite where you picked them up at...fastest wins)

Next...............?

Wet "T" shirt contest(no skin-no win!)
Weiner bite(yes,this is a game!)
Tattoo contest.
Burnout contest(till the tire pops!)
Slooooow drags
Beer drinking contest(which is pretty much to whole idea behind going)
Oh wait, those are at the biker parties......
We have a local Harley-style party just north of me,happens every year, called Rader's Kamakasi Jump.Live bands, naked women, lots and lots of beer, but the highlight is the japanese bike jump.Long runway(thru the crowd I might add)tall ramp and LARGE lake to land in.Jumpers are judged on style, distance and altitude.Bikes are drug back out of the lake, dried out and run till they won't run anymore. Law enforcement is at the gate and does NOT enter the party. All problems are handled "in house" so to speak. Very good party time......

As one of the promoters of a little fundraiser car show for our fire and ambulance dept. here in Colorado, I am always looking for new and fresh ideas. This year we are having:
a poker run
ice cream eating contest
coloring contest
kids fire fighter games (we let some of the big kids play also)
Blindfolded gurney and wheel chair races with the person pushing blindfolded and the patient guiding
model car contest
we opened it up to the local school groups to have booths and make money.
Thanks for your ideas.

You have to idle in gear all the way from start to finish...last one to the finish line wins. And you CANT use brakes to slow ya down. And no touching the gas.

I'm in charge of the Slow drags at the KOA Double date car show. Our participation has picked up over the last few years. I've put together a couple of cool looking awards for this years winners. This is one contest that has been getting more and more fans.

Rod Jousting??? You had me worried for a minute Grant. But it's your lifestyle and your business.

Wonder how the insurance company would feel about that game? It's a shame that the first thing you have to do after picking a date and location for a show or cruise is get insurance to cover your butt in case some fool trips over his own two feet. Can't imagine how the agent would react if your discribed "rod jousting" to him.

The one event I go to yearly where they have the jousting competition, I THINK is every man for himself, as nothing bad has happened until recently....It's your baby, pretty much. 4 years ago a T Bucket got out of shape (17 year old kid in dads street rod..never drove something that light with a blown 454) and smacked the barrier wall and tore up the frame. I dont think the club or Fairgrounds had anything to do with the damages...no one was hurt. Then again im not 100% sure.

Car Limbo........ Very similar to regular old limbo other than your in your ride. If ya cant get under it without hitting, wether ya flat out cant get under it without taking out the pole, or scrape your way through, your done.

Bottle Walking

Get 2 wine bottles, empty them and off you go.

Make a line across the floor with plenty of space in front. A piece of string or broom handle will do.

The objective is to place a single bottle as far in front of the line as possible. Players take it in turns, keeping their feet behind the line, walking forward on their hands using the bottles. Nothing may touch the floor in front of the line except the bottles. One bottle must be deposited as far out as possible and the player must shuffle back on the remaining bottle without collapsing.

Very tricky, and always harder to come back than go out.

Leave a marker for the best effort each round and see how far it goes.
