3m is a good product,,,i would go to your local auto body supply and tell them what your caulking and go on there recomendation,,for doing trunks or floors they have a product that comes in a quart can and spread out nice with a 1inch Paint brush, looks OEM....and for gutter rails they have self leveling caulking that flow out like glass,,

this is what I use ...
Wurth Seam Sealer ...
Self Leveling Epoxy Seam Sealer is designed for duplicating the factory appearance on standing cosmetic seams, trunk seams, floor pans and cone supports. Used where a flowable, two component sealer is required. No tooling required, and excellent for water leaks, with no shrinkage. Compatible with epoxy repair materials and topcoats. Full Cure Strength in 1 Hour but only needs to cure 45 min. prior to painting.

Thanks again now I will try and locate also is it OK to use short strand fiberglass filler to smooth the seams on the inside to hide my crude welding?
