Hey Al.......actually this is a good question because not all alternators are necessarily better in all instances just because they say "more". If you can determine which one charges the mostest at the lowest RPM, that is the one that I would pick since most of the time your engine lives at lower rpms.....unless you absolutely need that extra oooph for that big rapping and kickin stereo you have always dreamed of? Or how about that set of hydralics you need for slammin and jammin? Neon? ...Hairdryer? ;)

Al, all kidding aside, if you don't have these folks book marked in your favorites take a look at their tech section. www.madelectrical.com . Their about as good on electrical systems as Steve is on radiators. Good stuff.

I guess it depends to some degree on if your wiring is up to snuff. A lot of people wire in huge energy hungry accessories thru relays that are tapped right off the battery so they get a good stored supply of current. Then they discover that their battery is dying so they run out and put in a big alternator BUT fail to upgrade the wiring to the battery. Try to stuff 100 amps thru wires designed for 50 and it will not be a pretty picture
