I have a 1957 Chdvy with no ID tag on firewall or door post. Is the number stamped on the frame somewhere?

I don`t remember any frame numbers on the tri 5`s. I`ve restored quite a few. The only vin number is the tag on the "a" pillar.

real pain to get to but it is under the driverside seat on the frame rail.(more toward the back of the seat mount) Its about impossable to get to with out lifting the body or cutting the floor .Sometimes our state will except a tracing and install a new VIN if its documented pretty good. Most times it ts allmost un readable if you have any rust at all. Go find another tag and spot weld it on.....they were not reveted. Make sure there is some old color under it. I had to cut the floor on a full tilt custom to get it out of impound. Good luck
