Bill Wilson sent me this. If there is a way to go, This would be it. Not trying to be morbid here, But there is some humor in it.

Did it have a rolled and pleat interior? Would hate to put something that nice in the ground.

I don't know about roll and pleat but it is pretty nice in there. I sent Ed a photo of that too. These photos really don't do it justice the spot on Tech TV invent this showed it a lot better. Tinted window chrome lake pipes and all.

Name: Danny Mendez
Invention: Car-shaped coffin
Hometown: Hemet, Calif.
Current occupation: Metal worker
Inspiration: Wanted to find a use for aging car bodies

Danny Mendez earned a patent in 2002 for his "Car Shaped Coffin Construction": a casket shaped like a miniature hot rod.

An ornamental metal worker by trade, Danny loves stylized cars of all sorts and hopes his forthcoming "Cruisin' Caskets" line will appeal to the rabid car buff who, as he says, "wants to go out in style."

With its lid closed, you can't tell that his invention is a coffin. "I've had people come up to me and ask me what sized motor I have in it," Danny says. His prototype is fashioned after a cherry red 1950 Mercury low-rider car with plenty of chrome.

Danny has plans for additional models that will appeal to different tastes, such as a NASCAR race car and a police cruiser. He's also thinking about other applications for his invention, including smaller versions that can be used as an urn or even an ice chest for the ultimate tailgate party.

That guy built that one for himself. I think the plan is to build them to order. Say a '35 Delivery. at a cost of $8000 each.

This may sound like a dumb question but is there any "standards" that a coffin has to be built to? I mean they have to seal real well, etc.

Being that '49 to 51 Mercs are my first love when it comes to kustoms, I'd do/pay anything to end up in my favorite kustom permanently, fake or not! But damn, that things too kool to bury!

I want a blower thru the hood, neon lights and flame throwers as I am dropped into the ground! Are those options?
