Friday night cruise in at Thunder Road,Festival all day Saturday and the show is at Thunder Road on Sunday...registration is starting at 9 am. Anybody going???

35 i have changed my mind about goodguys in charlotte and have talked the wife in the trip to dawsonville. Can you tell me what days and shows are the best. We are staying in helen so i will end up there at least 1 day. Thanks cj

Saturday will be the big "festival" day in downtown Dawsonville with a parade,vendors and the like. Rumor has it that there's going to be at least 100 40 fords in town for Saturday including old race cars..Sunday is the car show at Thunder Road (the racing museum) at 415 highway 53..registration starts at 9am..judging starts at 12:00 and awards around 4:00....it should be a GREAT weekend for cruising just about anywhere.

I might meander down to Dawsonville this weekend to look at the fords....I have been on the move for the last three weeks. Whew! The 57 is finally got the 383 and new wheels. See the picture attached. I dinged my wife's 69 Camaro by taking a piece of metal that fell off a truck going to Cruise the Coast. Ooops...last time she will let me out with HER car. Paint shop time!

I see the "Thunderload" museum is out of business come winter. Apparently they are about $10M in debt whereas they paid every body in Dawsonville for something as favors to the good ole boys. I just don't see how they got 10M in debt. I have an acquaintence that looked at the business as a possible buyout....but after looking at the books...forgetaboutit! He said they literally paid locals for standing on the corner and belching. Those were his words...not mine. So...by-by monthly cruise-ins for next summer unless a miracle happens. I personally like the ambiance of the place......but the location sucks. No good eating places or whatever.
